okay but how much cooler would it have been if the cullens weren’t vegetarians and edward came across bella and still chose not to drink her blood

it would be so much more impactful, so much more difficult, and way more dramatic

like imagine he’s used to the taste of human blood and still resists his literal SINGER because he’s just so intrigued and in love with her

it’s one of those days when i rewrite edward’s smaller actions in my head because it’s not his fault stephenie meyer did him like this. in my head he’s not insanely inconsiderate about gifts and buys bella books (and not expensive ass vehicles and technology) and writes music for her.

also in my head he may still occasionally complain about not being able to read bella's mind but would vocally acknowledge and appreciate the fact that she has privacy no one else around him could have.

one afternoon in the meadow, when bella refuses to answer a question of his, he sighs, tucks a lock of hair behind her ear, and says "every time you remain silent like this feels like a puzzle that I have no clue how to solve. but i wouldn't trade it for the world. i wouldn't wish to take it from you."

and that alone would improve his character development by 120%. thank you for coming to my ted talk

I read the Twilight books about 10 years ago now, so my memory is fuzzy at best, but Edward was okay with Jacob getting Bella pregnant if she aborted the vampire baby, right? And he called Jacob's potential babies "puppies," right??
