Some pics for Evermore! Today wasn't my best day for photography. (Maybe I could say that about every day though...)
This doll is actually dyed pink, like the first photo. In the first pic she's wearing a dress meant for Elfdoll tinies. The black outfit is a Blythe skirt pinned up with ribbon to make a dress, and the headpiece from Little Pullip Noir.
Miss Wanderer arrived from China yesterday, in a beautiful handmade box. She is a porcelain BJD from FallRootPark on Etsy. I love her expression!
It's almost the weekend! I really want to make this dress from Dolly Bureau Volume 1 tomorrow. It would also look very cute in a knee-length version.
Just testing out a new lighting setup.
I think that instead of commenting on how ‘gross’ or ‘bad’ something looks when someone does it for the first time, maybe we should encourage them a little bit and help them improve. Everyone was a beginner once; can you imagine what it would be like if your favorite seamstress/tailor or faceup artist had given up because they’d been discouraged by these sort of comments?

The first doll things I sewed were for swaps, and I was embarrassed to send the lumpy ugly clothes I made. I sewed gifts for my friends that weren't much better. But everyone was encouraging, and with practice my skills improved a lot. Now I've been working on faceups, but I'm afraid to show anyone, because people can be so critical. But maybe I should be braver...

A few more photos from yesterday. At one point she was holding flowers and moved them up to her face as if to smell them. I know it's just that her elastic stringing is tight, but it took me by surprise!
