Reading Cafe {Belle Starter}

Jess was looking for a hobby, something to distract herself from everything else going on in her mind. She smiled when the girl walked over to her, attempting to take in everything that she was saying. Jessica had read Shakespeare before, mostly for school and never been a huge fan. “I’ll pass on the tragic love stories, I have enough of those in my own life without reading about other people’s.” She answered, still looking casually through the shelves.

Belle traced her finger along the shelf until she got to the “S” in the fantasy section. “Have you read the new book called Frost Dragon?” Belle said biting her lip. Oh! It’s such an amazing story by a wonderful author named John Smith! It’s almost like he’s travelled to a place where Frost dragons have existed themselves. I really recommend that you give that trilogy a read.” Belle said with a smile.

Reading Cafe {Belle Starter}

It weren’t the books but the smell of fresh baked goods what was drawing him into the reading cafe. How long had it been since the last time he had smelled something this delicious? It must’ve been years but it felt like a damn eternity. Nick’s mouth was watering alone by the idea of some muffins or cake. After years of this constantly rotten smell in the air which he had become so used to he had forgotten how clear the air used to be, even the gas pollution was a welcoming change. Call him insane but when this all was gone you start missing the strangest of things.

“Uhh —” Her excited rambling made it difficult for him to tell her the actual reason, so like a lost puppy he strolled after her. “Actually, I’m not looking for a Classic nor any other book. I’m only interested in a muffin or piece of cake. Unfortunately I have no money on me but was wondering if I still could get one?” This time his homeless look might play in his favor. It was wrong he knew it but he was so damn hungry.

“We do actually give out food to the homeless.” Belle said before grabbing her apron and tying it around her.  She then stood directly behind the counter where such tasty treats stood. Lastly she  grabbed a muffin and a piece of cake. Belle was beside herself. When was the last time this homeless man ate?  “And we have a shower in the back too!” She said, hoping that if he hadn’t had a shower in the last... whenever that he could rest assured that he could. Belle said that before smiling.  “My name is Belle, what’s yours?”

Belle Laughed at her comment. “You’re preaching to the choir sister!” Belle said before laughing. She doesn’t know why, but she feels like she can tell this complete stranger her life story. “I have this one guy called Gaston in my life, who says he’s in love with me but because he doesn’t read himself wants me to stop reading and just for me to rub his feet and give him his children. Meanwhile I think I have found love. Sure. He has his own flaws, but he loves me for me, you know? And this guy Gaston, thinks the best way to get me to love him is to kill the person I think I have fallen in love with. In fact, they went so far to that delusional fantasy of marrying me, that before I was transported here I was locked inside a horses cart. I truly hope the person I think I love will be brought here soon.” Belle says before sighing. But then she smiles widely. “My name is Belle. What’s your name?” She says looking over at the books alongside here to try and find her something.

Reading Cafe {Belle Starter}

Belle worked in a reading cafe in new York. It was simple as a library with books you could check out, but with food and coffee as well. What better than to have a meal over a good book? If she was sucked into this life, completely away from the one she loved, pulled away from her father, than absolutely she’d make this life at least as least as painful as possible. Sure she made coffee, but her passion lived within the world of books. And there she was, placing the books in the Dewey decimal system. For now she was working on alphabetically placing the books in order. 

“Of course I can help you! It’s my job after all. You want to borrow a Classic? May I recommenced Shakespeare? There are so many to choose from of course. I personally recommend Macbeth,  Hamlet or A Midsummer Nights Dream. They really are so many to choose from the author. But if you wish to be sucked into one of his best...” Belle said curiously  tilting her head to the left hand side. “Yes. I must recommend Romeo and Juliet. A Man and a Woman who were star crossed lovers. They were doomed from the beginning you see. Yes This play is a tragedy at its best, but its absolutely worth a read!” Belle says with a bright smile as she digs in the “S” author shelf searching for it until she finds it.
