A still life with focus on light and proportion🍾
I'm really proud of this one!
Two pencil drawings I made this week🐦
This was also a failure... I was really bummed out that this painting didn't work out the way it was supposed to. The colors are way too bright and the perspective is also not good. This assignment was about getting the colors right, but yeah...
Ramen soup!
Although it was fun to work with charcoal, I think this assignment totally failed. I didn't make a sketch first. I immediately started with the charcoal, so most of the shapes are off. I feel a bit frustrated, but I'm moving on to the next assignment. Maybe I'll try this one again later.
But first some other drawings.
These are some of my other artworks!
I also do digital art, but I will show you that some other time.
This was my third assignment!
The assignment was to make three paintings with the same shape but with different brush strokes and different color intensity's.
I chose to combine the lightest color with the heaviest brush stroke and so on.
I'm quite happy with how this assignment turns out.
What do you think?
These were my first assignments. First I studied prehistoric art and Greek art. Then the assignments were to make an artwork as in the prehistoric times and to make a Greek pattern with simple shapes.
I really liked the first assignment and to create like they did in the prehistoric times. It was refreshing to leave realism behind.
The second assignment was a bit harder. I wanted it to be really good. I think I put the bar too high for myself. I think the shapes are not simple enough and there's too much going on.
What do you think?
Hi! I'm Isabelle. I'm a special needs teacher who likes to draw and paint.
I regret I didn't go to art school and now I'm 24 and have a fulltime job (which I also really like). So I made an art school program to become better at making art!
On this page (or is it called a blog? I'm new to Tumblr) I will show you my progress.
I study art history and then I do a few assignments to practice different art styles. In the meantime I try to make other types of drawings and paintings as well.
I hope you'll follow along!
