A trip to Manchester for New Years
On the bus into Leeds city centre to catch the train to Manchester for NYE partying. I was also going to find a new beanie hat as I lost mine when I went to London to get my US visa. BuT as I sat on the bus hidden in my backpack I found it. YES!! Today is going to be a good day. 😃
72 days till I go. After a couple of nice day with my family over Xmas and limited communication with friends I have started feeling a little lonely. All it would take is for me to send them a message and start a conversation. Everyone asks me how I am training for my big trip the easy answer cycling a lot. The hard one, spending time alone clearing my head and enjoying my own company. I will have to do a lot of that on the road and I think the mind game is a really hard thing to conquer. I expect many day when I camp wild I will have to read, draw, whittle and write to focus my mind on good things. But when the wifi is in the air I will hopefully get some encouraging words of wisdom from friends when I message them with my adventurous tales. Well I best get on and start messaging my mates. You know I have an adventure to start training for 😉

So with now less than 4 months to go I have parted with the cash for my flights. Leaving from London to arrive In LAX on the 11th March. I will then get the Amtrax to San Diego either the same or the following day. I have flown by myself before but this is the first trip I have planned, booked and gone on by myself... It's a wonderful feeling. There will be times when friends will join me or I will meet up with Instagram buddies but for 6 months I will be solo, homeless and living on a bike making my way across the states. I just need to arrive in New York early to spend some time with my friend Amaris and to get on my flight to Glasgow in time to see my friends Sam and Lucy get married 😀
