I have finally moved Tommy and Rose here. I’m gonna definitely be dropping a shit ton of drafts, mostly cause I’m hella overwhelmed and I think I need to just cut back. That being said, I will tell you if I do - so if you do not get word of it, I probably lost the post and please lemme know! ^^
“I guess I was lucky,” she mumbled bitterly, scoffing into her empty glass. “We’d hide out in empty buildings for the first few weeks. He was recovering from being shot and I was lost. The screaming– well, we had to hide me for a little while. I couldn’t control myself. I’d forget that the man who brainwashed me had died- I’d fight Grant to get back to that horrible man. And then I’d remember.”
Kara fell silent again as she reminisced, shaking her head. It was hard, to recall it all sometimes, but better to deal with it than hide it away.
“I’ve never really gotten manicures. No point if they’d get ruined in the field. Or be used to identify you when you’re supposed to be covert.”
“Hardly. Well - “ She snorted. “You were lucky enough to never have to know my son of a bitch brother, Christian. Tommy’s the marshmallow of the Ward family. We’re all pitbulls and he’s like...a teacup toy poodle or something.” Rose smiled gently. “But that’s about as lucky as I think you got in comparison.”
She listened, taking a swig of her alcohol with a nod. “That sounds both horrible and...good. Because he was there for you when he needed you then. I’m sorry you had to go through that.” Rose paused.”
“Well, we’re definitely moving this to my room, then. And I’m gonna pretty up yo damn nails. Because every girl deserves to have their nails done at least once purely because they can. Because the manicure part feels good and the paint is cute and they like it. I can even get fancy about it if you are feeling sassy.” Rose grinned and jumped over the bar with a great deal of effort but landing on her feet without spilling a drop of rum.
“You can come. It’s probably easier, after all. I still get a little lost.” She offered a faltering, sheepish smile before turning towards the direction of the motel.
He smiled. “That’s quite alright. I’ll come with, then.” Zeke followed her, falling in step next to her.
Kara hesitated before stepping towards him. “Can I get my things?” she asked quietly, arms wrapping around herself. “It’s just around the corner. I can check out of the place I’m staying at. It’ll be quick, I swear.”
“Absolutely, Kara. Would you like me to go with you? You can say no, of course.”
“That would explain how he knew how to handle me when I was screaming. It was awful…. But he was good at helping me to just breathe.” Kara glanced down at the glass in her hands before shrugging and tossing it back, polishing off the nearly full glass in a few gulps.
“It’s good, really. I like it. Better than some of the stuff Grant and I had while we were moving around.” She looked saddened briefly at the memories before she refocused on Rose. “Sorry. It’s still…. hard to think about all of this.”
“Yup. He had to make sure I didn’t draw attention and get beaten for “disgracing” the family or some bullshit like that. Our family was...messed up, man.” Rose took a solid swig from her rum. She nodded. “I bet it was awful. Sounds fuckin’ awful. And Grant’s good at doin’ that. Helpin’ you find your way back to the present.”
“I ain’t the pyschologist in the family, and I’ve got like, zero filter. So I hope I don’t screw this up along the way. But it’s okay, for it to be hard. You’ve been through so goddamn much, Kara. I’d be legit concerned for my life if you weren’t affected by any of this. Because you would either be an actual robot or an alien. You don’t ever gotta apologize and lord fuckin’ knows I know what it’s like to have difficult memories. Maybe not on the same scale, but still - I get it.” Rose smiled sadly.
“So. What would you like to do? Because I vote we take this party to my room, maybe act like girls for a bit? I’ve got nail polish, when’s the last time you’ve gotten a manicure for the sake of just...having a manicure?”

I forgot that there’s an imaginary article in the non-existent section of the make-believe rule book in Hell that says I’m not allowed to rebel twice. ❞ Hissing as an intake of breath whistled through his teeth in an attempt to feign shame, Lucifer inclined his head to the side and clucked his tongue thrice. ❝ Maybe you should refresh my memory, dictate to me that rule again. And then after, maybe I’ll start caring. ❞ A smile, like always, graced his features, but hiding behind the browns of his eyes was the sarcasm that dripped from his tone. Maybe his sister and Leo had gotten their share of fun already, but he hadn’t, not even nearly half of it. He had left Hell for this exploration, risked the wrath of their Father just for the weak promise of entertainment. And now that he was finally starting to realize the real appeal of the mortal world, he couldn’t just step away now. After all, there was still one mystery he was looking to solve.
“You’re starting to give a shit about these maggots. That’s when article 5, paragraph 6, line 4 of Arioch’s imaginary Hell rules are enacted. We gotta go home. Unless you’re scared? There’s no shame in being a priss priss who can’t cut it.” Ari taunted, quirking a brow at her brother. She was worried. Her brother was changing, and she didn’t like it.
“I want to understand. You know I’d follow you anywhere. But I’m not going to do it without questioning you at times.” She quirked a brow. “You taught me to do that. This is insanity.”

“I have. Told him to piss off repeatedly and he just doesn’t listen. The next time he interferes with a case, I swear to god, I’m going to arrest him.” Jemma eyed the drink for a moment before grabbing the glass and downing the liquid in one gulp.
She was still a human, and if Lucifer wasn’t halfway up this woman’s cunt - Arioch would have cut her to ribbons simply because she could. There was always something you could find reason for doing so. But damn, if she couldn’t help but appreciate her style. Alright, little human.
She reached under the bar and grabbed a backpack leash, handing it to her. “It’s either this or a shock collar, but he’d like that.”

Since we’re such Lucifer trash, can we just talk about how redundant Lucifer’s name is? Lucifer Morningstar. Lucifer means ‘Morning Star’. He is literally Morning Star Morningstar. Who gave him the permission to use that combination of first and last name?

“Would you look at that! You and I agree on something. We need to get back to hell, you should tell him that.” She pushed the drink back at her. “You’re gonna need this to deal with him.”
Jemma jumped, startled by the sound of the glass on the bar. She was off duty, yes, but she was fascinated (and also incredibly irritated) by the man who kept intruding on her cases.
“Uh– oh, no, I wasn’t planning to drink. I still need to drive home.” She hesitantly pushed it back towards the other woman a little. “Um, who? I don’t know who you’re talking about, um…. I should just go, I shouldn’t be here…”
“He’s not going by his fucking name?” She rolled her eyes. “Okay - the annoying as fuck guy who keeps intruding on your cases? Tall, dark, handsome? People seem to tell him everything? That’s my brother.”

Ari was agitated. Annoyed as fuck. Her older brother, who she had literally followed through the gates of hell, now had this inane need to “retire.” She wanted to go home and now he was hanging around this human woman as well.
The former angel slammed a glass of alcohol down in front of her with a dangerous smile. “On the house. You know, I never caught your name. I’m Ari, Lucifer’s sister. It’s wonderful to meet you.” She deadpanned, quirking a dark brow sarcastically.
