thinking of pope and all the mean and nasty shit he will take from the people he likes because 1) he doesn’t want to be handled with kid gloves and 2) he wants to be loved unconditionally too. he finds it so easy to forgive these women once they are honest with him bc he knows that there is something wrong with him. knows that he isn’t easy either, and never will be, and he remembers what it felt like to be loved despite it (julia).
