What is true power?
Power..Power...POWER!!
When anyone mentioned power, it is undoubtedly images of explosions, dynamites, lightning strikes, tornadoes, balls of fire, speed, unmatched strength, superheroes etc that will come in our mind. Nevertheless, aren’t these images of destructions and fear?
What if power can be depicted using adjectives like soft, gentle, kind and full of peace? This notion probably will blow most people minds off. And yet, such power exists.
Now think about God. Most believers agree that God is Almighty and All Powerful. Well, He created the universe, the earth, all creation in 7 days. In the Bible, there were many manifestations of God’s power like parting of the Red Seas, raining fire and most important of all raising Jesus from the dead. Surely, that is real power and we praise His Glory forever more.
The greatest power of God to me, is Him laying down His Life for me and you. Jesus at the cross, He knows He is fully God and fully Man and yet He took my sins, my punishment, my death. He took the choice to take my place.
The greatest power of God is not shown in dazzling wonder, with pomp and circumstance, at the cross when it met the payment for our redemption. It was soft, silent, gentle, kind, unassuming till He cried out, “It is finished!”
The greatest power of God is His Love. It may sound corny in this age when love is more like a fleeting emotion than a noun. His Love is everlasting; look at the skies, the seasons, the flowers and tress, the oceans, creations and everything beautiful He has made for us. He didn’t reset, He is unrelenting.
