In this first installment of a four-part video series, hear from two Bentley seniors about the steps they took during college to launch a career.
"Bentley Service-Learning students come in with a world of ideas. They learn slowly the very specific skills you need to move these ideas forward. They start to develop strategic plans, applying their business skills to those to create the change they want to in the world." -Jonathan White, Director of the Service-Learning Center
The Bentley Service-Learning Center (BSLC) is celebrating its 25th year. See what impact its student leaders make through the program and how that translates into success in the classroom, and in the corporate world.
We were wondering what members of the Bentley community did during their summers, so we spent a day walking around campus asking them. Hear their big plans here! What are you doing this summer? Post a picture to Instagram with the hashtag #BentleyOnBreak showing us your favorite summer plans and weâll let you vote for 3 winners every month.

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 7
Itâs the last day of finals -- you did it! And a big big congratulations to all our graduating seniors. As has been our tradition every semester, the Social Media team at Bentley will be posting a âFinals Week Survival Guideâ every day during finals with fun gifs, images, and tips to help you stay motivated and relaxed. We know finals are tough, but our Falcons are #prepared!
MOTIVATIONAL GIF OF THE DAY:
Summer has arrived, and itâs yours to conquer. Go and accomplish amazing things -- we know you will!
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
Finals Week Day 7, and youâre done!! Another semester accomplished. Woohoo!
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
Of course, you have to celebrate with your friends too!
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Get rid of all the stress of the semester by working out with some friends.
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
Best part of heading home? Home cooked meals... yum!
REMINDER OF WHAT OUTSIDE LOOKS LIKE:
Not like we need to tell you -- we hope youâre already out there, soaking up the sun!

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 6
Itâs the second-to-last day of finals! Plenty of our falcons are already packing up and summer is in sight.
Positive mantras: how to survive your 5th final.
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
Itâs not the best feeling to know your friends are already done exams and moving home. But soon youâll be joining them!
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
And without these friends on campus, thereâs nothing to distract you from studying (except maybe Netflix...) Take advantage of the quiet and get some good studying in!
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Gather up whichever friends are still on campus (maybe this is the time to befriend your RA, here until Saturday) and take an hour or two to catch up and de-stress.
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
Sick of those plain fruits and veggies? Add some ice and blend to have them in smoothie-form -- perfect for these hot days!
REMINDER OF WHAT OUTSIDE LOOKS LIKE:
Flowers are finally back!

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 5
Can you believe itâs already day 5? Youâre already over half-way done finals!
Just imagine you have your own pocket penguin whenever youâre feeling stressed.
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
Day 5 -- itâs been a long week. But youâre almost done! Get some rest and keep going.
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
The nice thing about being on Day 5 is that some grades are already coming in, and hopefully you've been doing better than expected. Let go of some of that stress and rest easy knowing youâre doing just fine.
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Focus on your breathing; itâs an easy way to meditate wherever you are. Try a few deep breaths right before an exam: in through the nose for 4 seconds, out through the nose for 4 seconds.
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
Fruits and veggies are great, but sometimes you need a treat. But maybe limit it to just one sweet!
REMINDER OF WHAT OUTSIDE LOOKS LIKE:
Even from inside thereâs still plenty of sun!

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 4
Itâs Monday, and the start of the last week of finals!
Itâs always hard to re-focus after a beautiful weekend, but youâre almost done. Just four more days and then itâs summer!
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
You can get a bit delirious when youâre finishing up that paper at 3am... (or 4, or 5, or 6...)
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
Taking the weekend off to enjoy the sun may have felt like a good idea Saturday, but not last night when you were up studying. Try to get some sleep though or you wonât be able to focus on your exams!
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Play some of your favorite music to relax -- just be sure to keep it down for 24/7 quiet hours!
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
Start your day off right with a full breakfast, with eggs, toast, fruit, orange juice, or whatever you like most. You can get freshly cooked eggs all morning in Seasons at the grill.
REMINDER OF WHAT OUTSIDE LOOKS LIKE:
Look at all that green!

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 3
Itâs Saturday, and for some of you, that means Saturday exams. Which means time for another Survival Guide!
One week down, one week to go. Youâve got this! Take a few hours to relax today and then buckle down again for the last sprint.
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
Letâs face it: Saturday exams are exhausting. But theyâre over!
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
Itâs really hard to make yourself study on a day as beautiful as today. Try taking your books outside, or eat dinner on the patio outside Russoâs. You can enjoy the sun and still be productive!
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Stressed? Put on some music and have an impromptu dance party for a study break. (And hey, mastering the Carleton counts as an accomplishment for the day, right?)
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
Itâs Saturday -- indulge a bit with some chocolate. Then just dance it all off and get back to the books. :)
REMINDER OF WHAT OUTSIDE LOOKS LIKE:
Summer is only a few days away, falcons. Just a few more days.

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 2
Itâs day two of finals -- still going strong? As has been our tradition every semester, the Social Media team at Bentley will be posting a âFinals Week Survival Guideâ every day during finals with fun gifs, images, and tips to help you stay motivated and relaxed. We know finals are tough, but our Falcons are #prepared!
MOTIVATIONAL GIF OF THE DAY:
Youâve worked hard all year for this, and now weâre at the finish line. You can do it.
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
We know a lot of you have Saturday exams, and theyâre tough. Take a break every once in a while and be sure to get plenty of rest -- if you keep trying to re-read your notes while exhausted you wonât retain any of it!
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
Is it really only the second day of finals?
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Walking can be a great stress reliever. Put down the books, grab some headphones, and clear your head for a half-hour. Itâll re-energize you!
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
While we donât recommend your sandwich is this big, you do need to eat some real food! Donât skip meals just because youâre studying. Grab a quick sandwich from Russoâs or Einsteinâs on the go if youâre rushed for time; hours below.

Your Finals Week Survival Guide: Day 1
Hope your first day of finals are going well, falcons!
Struggling to get started with your studying? Listen to wise Yoda -- just open your books and start and youâll be just fine.
HOW YOU FEEL TODAY:
Finals week feels like it snuck up on us this year! Thinking of all the exams and projects and presentations coming up can be a bit overwhelming, but youâll get through it.
WHAT YOUâRE THINKING
Realizing youâre not as prepared for that big exam as you thought you were? Check out this guide to all the Learning Centers on campus for help. The Writing Center, ACELAB, CLIC Lab -- theyâre all here to help!
DE-STRESS TIP OF THE DAY:
Itâs only one day into finals but self-care is always important. Keep your stress levels down and relax with instrumental music, a warm shower, or meditation video from YouTube.
STUDY SNACK OF THE DAY:
Looking to keep your energy up? Stock up on veggies to make a quick salad whenever your hunger peaks to keep you away from sweets. This oneâs a bit plain, but you can always add things like avocado, strawberries, walnuts, and more!
REMINDER OF WHAT OUTSIDE LOOKS LIKE:
Itâs beautiful out there -- study hard for a few hours, and then take a 20 minute break outside to enjoy the sun!
Check back tomorrow for Day 2 of our Survival Guide, and good luck studying!
Special thanks to Ithaca College for the idea to create a Finals Week Survival kit!
Four years ago they gathered under a tent, heard the phrase âWelcome, welcome, welcome!â for the first time, read the Bentley Beliefs, and officially became falcons. Now, in less than a month, they will graduate. Congratulations, Class of 2015! Enjoy every moment of this last month.
After a long winter, the beauty of spring arrived just in time for Accepted Students Day at Bentley, which saw hundreds of members of the Class of 2019 and their families getting to know campus and each other as scores of faculty, staff, and students, and a giant falcon, offered a warm welcome.
