Hi! I noticed at the start of season 2 of good omens Crowley's wings are darker after he learns what is planned for the universe, is just my overthinking and shadows or a sort of sign of Crowley's "loss of faith"?

who came up with the idea of having a good omens episode in scotland and was it to give david is accent back and let him act as drunk as possible so no one can understand him?(as a scot i thank you BUT I MUST KNOW)

Once we knew that we were going to be filming in Scotland the idea of making a story set in Edinburgh seemed like an excellent idea: we were right there, after all. Cat Clarke had an idea for a story set in the time of Mary Queen of Scots, but it didn't really work for us, and we decided that the time of the Bodysnatchers might be a good way of exploring the moral questions involved in what was happening back then, which was really fun.

The many Scottish accents was my idea shortly before filming.

Dear Neil,

I have loved your work ever since my dear friend gave me American Gods some 20 years ago. However, it has been weeks since I finished Good Omens season 2 and I am still heartbroken! My grief is so evident that my daughters are conspiring to torture you. Specifically they want to:

- lock you in a room

- shave your head

- dye your skin blue

- cover you with mud

- sing and dance and scream around you until you go insane

I just thought you should know, and beg for some hope that everything is going to be ok?

But if they covered me with mud nobody would be able to tell that they had shaved my head and dyed my skin blue...?

Hello Mr. Neil. You probably aren't going to see this but I really need to get this out of my chest.

I want to thank you for good omens because right now the show is the only thing that seems good in my life (even if the ending devastated me and made me cry like I hadn't in a year). I'm in a dark place right now, I'm under a lot of stress. I'm 22yo and I have no idea of what I want to do with my life. I just started in college (late, compared to my colleagues) and I hate it, I really do and I'm sure it isn't what I want. But at the same time I have no idea and my family is counting on me being the first in college. And now I have all this weight on my chest and I have nowhere to go, nothing I can do but freak out and feel guilty about my stupidity.

So yeah, I'm freaking out and wanting to die but I really need to see season 3 of good omens so I have to stay alive. Thanks again for giving me reasons to be happy! You're amazing.

Please stay alive. We both need to find out how it comes out, don't we?

I was wondering, when you and Terry Pratchett were writing the book Good Omens, did you think it was a love story?

It's never confirmed that Crowley and Aziraphale loved each other romantically until Season 2 of the TV Show, so I wasn't sure if this was always planned, or if it just evolved in the writing of Season 2.

I think Good Omens the book is lots of things but it isn't structured as a love story, no, although there's a very solid argument for it being four different love stories.

When I wrote Season 1 I needed to add bits to help shape it and keep Aziraphale and Crowley as the stars, which was why it was structured as a love story.

Did I say that? The Crowley in the book definitely uses a bathroom once in the 19th century.

So I was watching this old video again because the new Good Omens season triggered my obsession with Neil Gaiman's stories that creeps up periodically ( and his voice is soothing to listen to while I draw) And at about 1:25:30 there's a part that really made me giggle, cause this is what he says when asked about themes in his work:

"I remember once somebody asked me about the kiss that would occur in my books three quarters of the way through, to indicate that we were now moving into act three. And I said 'what'. And they said 'well you must be conscious of it, you do it every time.'"

So, I've been obsessively toiling on an edit featuring Crowley for the last 2-3 weeks and only now that it's nearly complete has the thought occurred to me. I was wondering how you feel about fan-edited videos of the shows and movies that have been adapted from your works. I know your general stance on fanfiction, but I wonder if you might feel differently about fan-edits. I hope all is well with you! Have a wonderful rest of your day! PS: From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the gift that is Good Omens. It's really helped me through some self-discoveries I hadn't realized were possible before.

I don't watch fan edits but I am glad that people make them for each other.

Hi Neil, I was wondering about the costuming during the ball. I’ve seen people calling Jim’s ensemble an Elton John look but it seemed like a clear Liberace homage to me. Of course both would wear a sparkly suit and feather cloak, but that was Liberace’s gotp aesthetic while Elton John used to go for more avant-grade looks. Also Aziraphale is controlling the wardrobe choices in this scene and Elton John would be too bebop for his tastes but Liberace the classical pianist would be right up his alley. Was it meant to be a reference to Elton John or Liberace?

Also people have speculated that since Jim’s other clothes were borrowed from Aziraphale. I thought it was the result of Aziraphale’s miracle that made everyone’ wardrobe more glamorous for the ball. But if it was originally Aziraphale’s outfit, do you have a backstory for when he originally wore it? And is that something we might see in series 3?

Finally, why didn’t Aziraphale conjure glamorous outfits for himself or Crowley?

In my head Aziraphale is giving everyone the clothes he feels they should wear, Jim included.

Our amazing costume designer had designed an Aziraphale at the ball costume, but Michael felt strongly that Aziraphale wouldn't dress up for it, and should remain in civvies.
