                was her statement genuine or just another attempt to incite his frustrations even more ? exhaling through his nostrils , his jaw clenches . jalissa had a way of changing the dynamic of his thinking . he had walked let her into his home fully prepared for things to his way , especially after his suspicious disappearance in the night prior , yet here she was playing this just as good as he , not what he wanted at all . ‘ i do support you . ’ he says  what he knows she wants to hear with no emotion behind his sentence . there wasn’t a single part of him that expected her to quit what she was doing if he stated other wise . why would she ? he had not shown her any true form commitment which allowed her reciprocation & if the tables were turned and he hadn’t fucked up his career for himself , he couldn’t quit for anyone . a brow arches while he reads over her features that contradict her very own words . of course he knew she would do exactly that . 

atlas had the pleasure of experiencing previous demented episodes with the brunette . her delicate fingers at the nape of his neck raise hairs , raising goosbumps .  ‘ baby , don’t think i’d ever underestimate you . ’ the sly smile on his features returns momentarily until she frees space between their bodies .  ‘ now you’re just being spiteful . ’ he admits what they both are well aware of , briefly studying her petite figure as she continues to shift away from him , standing upright as well , no longer using the island top for support . a smirk stretches between his cheeks as he steps to hover over her once more , craving to be in close vicinity . ‘ just a second ago you were laughing at me for the same thing you now want to flip around and use against me ? do you want me to beg ? ’ he scoffs , ‘ you’re crazy . ’ he takes a soft jab at her . he knew she truly did not want to leave , it would only give atlas another free night alone , to do whatever with whom ever all out of spite .  

she raises her brows at him . she couldn’t decipher if he was telling the truth . perhaps it was due to being torn on loving hearing the words i do support you . the feeling she felt in the pit of her stomach almost made her believe what she knew in her heart was a lie . after all , this was atlas taylor . he was incredibly territorial and here she was supposed to believe that he supported her having sex with other people , even if it meant absolutely nothing to her . which it didn’t . there wasn’t one guy or girl , for that matter that you could find camera footage of jalissa with that she truly cared about . not like she did for the male she was currently in the company of . “ don’t lie to me , “ she said plainly . a part of her was responding to his confirmation but the other part ? was a warning . jalissa didn’t like to share and no matter how many times he refused to claim her as his girlfriend , in her eyes , atlas was hers . her words could’ve been uncoded for don’t push me . 

“ and you shouldn’t , babe , “ her hand giving a little pat along his skin to match with her words , “ you shouldn’t “ she repeats herself , a small smirk coming to the brunette’s face as she did so . taking a step away from him , her eyes go dead . a mixed affect of the alcohol she’d taken in starting to take some affect as well as him calling her out for her current actions . a shrug flowing off her shoulders . so what . she thought in her head . her eyes peering up at him as she watched him close the gap between the two of them , that she’d created . being in close proximity made it harder for her to think , which posed a serious problem when dealing with him . sucking her cheek in slightly as his jab filled echoed in between her ears . “ right , i’m crazy , “ she dismissed with a roll of her eyes . “ what are you then ? “ taking a step closer , allowing him to truly tower over her at this point , with so little space between the two of them . jalissa knew one thing for sure . whatever was said , right here in this room , couldn’t run her out of his home . she knew he knew that . “ you know what ? “ throwing her hands up in the air , “ i need another drink . “

“oh, yeah, of course,” lorrie said, “it’s a good story. it’s just a historical fact that magic has always been an anti-capitalist force.” it wasn’t exactly what her oma had always told her, but it was close enough. that the leaders feared magic because, if magic was real, why work? why work under their thumb to meet your basic needs? also, sexism. the sexism didn’t help magic’s reputation, either. she had to break into a smile; lorrie was always proud to make somebody laugh. “yeah, you don’t fucking know what people are into. you’re not a kink expert, despite what you seem to think.” lorrie shrugged, passing the blunt back to her. “i dunno, it seems like your m.o., though maybe it’s really just living your best life.” lorrie put a hand to her chest, “me? i had to scream to get noticed all my life, so. freak people the fuck out i do.”

“ can we please change the topic , i want to gauge my eyes out . “  jalissa complained . she wasn’t one to bite her tongue when faced with a topic or situation she wanted no part of . " do you want me to gauge out my eyes , lorrie ? “ her head leaned up against the headrest of the chair as she turned to face the other girl . “ i like my eyes “ popping out her lower lip just before her lips curved up into a soft smile . “ i am too a kink expert , “ she gasped , feigning offence to lorelei’s claim . more than happy to take the blunt now being passed back to her . “ maybe i’m not , “ she professed in a light mumble as she took another hit . the smoke swelling in her lungs , just the right amount . “ sis , “ she let out a little laugh , “ i am for sure living my best life , “ pulling her phone out from her pocket . “ do you know what song i’m about to put on ? “ she turned to the other with an excited expression before turning her attention back down to the iphone in her slender fingers .  “ well i mean , freak people out in what sense ? “ she asked . “ i had to fight for attention , too , “ the affect of being the middle child . which resulted in jalissa’s insatiable need for attention today .

‘ you weren’t , but cool , ’ he speaks through his teeth , his annoyance and aggravation growing by the second while picking up on hers . they are both without a doubt easily irritable beings , their equal pleasure in playing games was the only thing that prevented the two from engaging in more heated , screaming arguments . ‘ sure, our friend. ’ he continues the extremely naive & childish ridicule knowing it would only irritate her more . of course he could of left the conversation alone , giving her the last comments on it all but atlas had a terrible underlying issue with needing to one-up someone else’s petty . the tight expression drops from his features as she pulls him in , his teeth sinking into his lesser lip , gaze locked on hers as she peers up at him barely towering over her through her lashes . ‘ does it really matter what i care ? ’ he inquires actually expecting a genuine answer from her . he could say he didn’t support her work , admit his jealously , then what ? feel like a complete fool for showing his ass and an ounce more of his honest emotions . indubitably he wanted her for hisself but that was far from their reality . closing in on her features , their lips barely touching , his parts but only to speak hysteria , ‘ until you get pissed at me & leak it ,’ he hints at the femme’s obvious underlying insanity that matched his . remaining this close to  t e a s e  her was difficult . atlas couldn’t deny his fervent attraction for the brunette , she was a walking temptation . 

“ sue me for wanting to spend time with you, “ she scoffed . she probably should’ve just nodded and moved on but that wasn’t necessarily jalissa’s style . “ you are ridiculous , i swear - “ cutting herself off , flipping her hair back and off her shoulders . her nostrils flaring as she attempted to control her aggravation with the little things he did to poke and prod at her . letting her head drop slightly at his query . the answer did matter to her , in truth . it was a source of great sadness for the brunette knowing throughout every stage of her like she was putting people on these pedestals hoping they’d support her but they never did .  this was of course something she simply never let anyone in on , but whether she voiced it or not , it was very much so there . with that said , she didn’t handle criticism on her work very well . always on the defense , with the flack she received for it . “ of course it matters , “ that didn’t mean she was going to quit , but she wasn’t going to lead her response with that . slender fingers moving up his arms , until they found a resting place at the nape of atlas’ neck . moments like this were the tug of war she struggled with . the point at which they played up on one another’s most negative traits and the point to where she knew how he made her feel and she wished the couple had a semblance of sanity between the two of them . her lashes fluttering as his accusation sunk in . letting her head pull away from the close proximity their lips previous were . not able to hold back her mischievous smile as she looked to the side . “ do you really think i would do that ? “ she asked . the girl who would do anything out of spite . what a dumb question . “ to you . “ as if the person made a difference . if anything she’s more apt to being spiteful in situation where people she cares about are involved . he of all people was well aware of that , though . “ i was trying to give you something for when we’re not together , “ slipping down from counter , her hands sliding down from his neck to his abdomen , as she reached the floor and the true height difference was revealed again . “ but if you don’t want me , “ picking his hand up from the bar , as if opening a gate , she slipped out from between his body and the counter . “ i guess that’s okay or whatever . “ the look on her face temptatious in the most manipulative way , as she matched her glossy pout with fluttering lashes .

late nights in hilton , only left you with a few things to do . tonight , jalissa and a few friends decided to head on over to a local nightclub . skipping the line that had formed and making her way over to the group of bouncers congregating at the front door . over the years she’d wielded a pretty solid relationship with most of them . the girl cracked a couple jokes until hearing one of them say something about an nba player . her initial reaction being that perhaps her close friend had read her mind and also showed up but upon turning around she was all but disappointed when she laid on on none other than xavier miller . already a little tipsy from pre-gaming she turned back to the bouncer with a little laugh , “ oh my god , don’t let him in , “ she laughed her pitch going up as she didn’t really caring if she was loud enough for the approaching athlete to hear her or not . “ it would be so funny , come on . “

‘ what , i can’t do things alone with my friend anymore ? ’ his tone emphasizes nearly every syllable . sure , he knew romeo & jalissa had a relationship of their own , she considered him one of her closest friends – but being territorial was in atlas’ nature , especially someone who knows the in & out’s of his life like romeo . his brows knit together , completely not enthralled with the source of her laughter . lissa was wildly acquainted with the things that really made atlas tick ; jealousy being one of his worst traits , but that went hand in hand with being territorial . the male retracts his arm from her waist & places two , calloused hands on the bar behind her , trapping her between his brawny arms . the scent that resonated from her now dancing under his nostrils . he was setting up yet another game to play , ‘ logging online to watch you fuck hundreds of other guys would only take a few seconds, jalissa . you know that’s not what i meant . ’ his irritation & exaggeration is laced in his deep tone , he wasn’t sure of the exact number of people she had filmed with in her years . 

her brows knitting together at his tone . she knew how territorial he was . truthfully , he could potentially out beat her for most territorial on the island . roman’s brows raise in unison as she praises her appearance in HIS clothing. he couldn’t mask the way his eyes SHAMELESSLY dragged along her figure in the reflection, lingering on certain places longer than others. though he could only sigh, his aversion to the other’s garments apparent. nonetheless, he forced a grin, so blatantly synthetic yet he hoped it was convincing enough the femme not to notice. ❝ mm, are you we should go out, jay ? i mean, we both know you’re gonna get a lotta stares & i can’t have guys checkin’ you out, plus — is green REALLY your color ? ❞ he knew how DISTASTEFUL that last remark came off but he was hangin’ onto his act by the skin of his teeth, basically lacing every word with some sort of lie. he was hiding something from her & he knew how close he was to bursting at the seams about it. ❝ besides… ❞ he sets her petite frame down against the counter, situating himself so he was caged between her thighs. his hands traveled to her as, cupping it in his palms as he continued, ❝ this ass on a platter is enough to SATISFY my hunger. ❞ his tone was teasing as his words, though dragged out by each syllable, were immediately followed by a chuckle. 

the bright uptick of her lips dropping at both his lack of enthusiasm for going out as well as his comment . a bout of confusion hitting her , until she pushed it aside . he had to be trying out a new form of humor , or something . “ you’re joking , right ? “ her voice deadpan , overlapping his besides . now pressed up onto the counter , jalissa drapes her arms over his shoulders , almost instinctively . looking up at roman , just a little due to the height difference . she was put off by his earlier comments but also couldn’t help but to get a little giddy over what followed . letting a little laugh tumble from her glossy lips “ he’s a rapper now , “ she teased , her brows raised slightly as if her statement were a question .  there was no denying it , in the back of jalissa’s head she could only think about the comments he’d made . between the not wanting to see her get stares ( after asking her to stop doing porn some time ago ) and the pretty mean comment that followed . she couldn’t help but drop her arms down, pushing his hands off of her body in the process . “ you know what , “ she sighed . “ im gonna change out of this and head out , “ slipping down from the counter , letting the touch of the cold bathroom floor against her feet wake her up a bit . “ you know , go be pretty in pink or something . “ waving her hand up , as if to silent say i give up , as she made her way over to the bathroom door .

      ever  since  moving  to  hilton  ,  juno  had  become  quite  friendly  with  the  baristas  at  the  local  coffee  shop.  so  here  she  was  ,  enjoying  a  cup  of  joe.  slender  fingers  grasp  the  cup  ,  bringing  it  up  to  her  lips  to  take  a  sip.  she  scrolls  through  her  phone  ,  double  tapping  here  and  there.  it  isn’t  until  she  hears  a  VERY  familiar  voice  that  juno  raises  her  head.  it  was  no  other  than  jalissa.  the  brunette  lets  out  a  laugh  at  her  friend’s  dramatics.  “  i  swear  i  texted  you  about  the  move  !  ”  she  ponders  for  a  moment.  “  no  i  definitely  texted  you.  i  was  like  ‘  hey  !  a  bitch  is  gonna  be  her  year  round  now  ’  or  something  like  that.  ”

stepping out from her vehicle . a fun bounce coming from her chunky platform sneakers as they met with the cement . “ i don’t know , “ she sang in a suspicious tone . hitting the button to lock her doors as she made her way over to her friend . slender arms wrapping around juno . giving a little tilt of her head when the other recited the text she’d sent . jalissa pulled herself up onto the seat beside the brunette , turning her attention to the nearest barista “ could i have an iced caffe mocha , babe ? “ sending the service profession a bright smile , before turning her attention back to juno . “ so wait , “ a bright smile illuminated the girls features . “ you’ve moved in for good ? “ briefly playing finger drums against the surface in front of them . “ tell me ashton isn’t about to come out and tell me I've been punk’d . “

          the smile between his cheeks only g r e w watching her react . of course he knew it would piss her off . by now he knows all the tid-bits and pet peeves , and just when to trigger a specific response from the brunette . his features hastily change to display his confusion as she breaks eye contact with him , deciding if he was going to call her out for glaring at her phone –  or wait to see who breaks first . he could easily ignite a full blown dispute , especially with the coat of warmth left on his chest from liquor , & he was craving another . he shrugs before letting speaking another lie , ‘ got high . the usual . ’ he kept his answer short , leaving little room for any important details she could possibly ask for . his arm intuitively snakes around her petite waist , fitting perfectly despite the height difference that remained between their two bodies . ‘ no reason , baby . ’ the words roll off his tongue and right through his infamous smile . he had gotten too good at lying with e a s e , without any remorse , in the moment at least . ‘ can i get a sneak peak ? or a reenactment , preferably . ’ he speaks without processing her words , determining whether or not it were the truth .

“ you two got high without me ? “ jalissa gasped , “ how fucking rude , “ sending daggers atlas’ way , although these were different to the usual one . this time it was playful . sure , she was annoyed with him , not that it was a hard feat with jalissa . despite that his touch alone sent her blood rushing , making her mind fuzzy to the point were she could almost lose track off the game the two were playing at right now . the sound of his words brought her back to reality though . her hazel eyes meeting his . perhaps it was the crazy girlfriend in her but she knew that look and it wasn’t the look of a trust worthy man . setting her drink down on the counter after taking one last sip . leaning back , while still wrapped up in his muscular arms she couldn’t help but let out a little laugh . “ you want me to reenact fucking another guy ? “ her question laced with a certain venom that sought out the ex nfl players deep rooted jealousy . she was well aware that wasn’t what he meant but as they both knew , she couldn’t help herself .

the island wasn’t that big , so the odds of avoiding jalissa for the rest of his existence was slim to none . he was reminded of that when he suddenly made eye contact with the girl while at an event . no matter how much his conscience told him not to smirk , he still did . it was subtle , but it was there . to make matters worse , he brought his hand up , giving her a small wave before using his same hand to pull through his messy hair . it wasn’t the time yet to approach her . too early in the evening and too sober . brooks gave a small wink before turning his attention away , busying himself with a double whisky on the rocks and small talk with … fuck he didn’t even remember their name .

“ are we finally going to leave the past in the past and move on with our lives , babe ? ” he asked as he approached her from the side . he rested his arm against the nearest surface and had a small smirk still settled onto his features , “ i’ve apologized multiple times . and thanked you for the fame . i was stupid , blah blah . aren’t you getting tired of holding this grudge ? ” he asked , head tilting slightly as he raised a brow .
