For a small section of society, the climate crisis has been a hot topic for a long long time. But it’s only in the past year or so that it’s become more of a mainstream topic, largely thanks to young climate activists around the world speaking up and speaking out.
Nowadays, living a sustainable life is something many people strive toward, but what does that mean? A group of students from a documentary photography course taught by photojournalist Ann-Christine Jansson at the Photocentrum of the Gilberto-Bosques-Volkshochschule Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg decided to investigate and find out different ways people are trying to curb climate change. What they found varies — from beekeepers and upcyclers, to vegan bands and plastic-free proponents.
The result of their exploration is a photo exhibition, Footprints, which will be held between February 14 and March 1, 2020, at the KulturMarktHalle Berlin. Come see the various visions of sustainability as captured through the lenses of 17 different photographers. The Vernissage takes place on February 14th, 2020 at 7 p.m. and the Finissage will be on March 1st, 2020 at 7 p.m. Both will feature live music. If you miss the opening and closing, the exhibition will be open on Wednesdays through Sundays from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.
