In my head motherhood is literally the hardest thing a human can do. The problem with being a woman who is confident/firm/doesnt fawn/asserts boundaries is that it often makes women dislike you. I know this because I have often disliked women who do it and resented them. Because I myself resented their freedom when I felt I couldn’t do the same. But the secret is you can do the same! Not everyone’s situation is equal but if you’re adhering to strictures I advise reframing yourself in your head as someone who doesn’t have to adhere to strictures.
