Is the security camera mechanic (seeing how close they are to spawning) and starlings following you to other areas like Lapinland still a thing, or did that die when you switched from browser tabs to a steam release.

Also those audio bytes of when starlings are about to spawn near you sounded really cool, specifically the “I know you hear me”, it’d be a shame if those had to get axed but not the biggest deal.

The security camera function sadly got cut. As cool as it was, it’s only built for browsers, and generally doesn’t fully fall in line with how the game works anymore.

Hi-09 in its beta stages was a lot more disjointed, and it was almost in an open world manner? The story was the same but, a lot less linear. The problem is, I’m not making an open world game, and trying to fit open world game design into a game will small maps just invites issues.

The security camera would let you prepare for enemies so they can’t catch you off guard, but the issue that comes with that, is they would be roaming encounters where they just randomly show up. There’s basically no stakes for dying since there is no inventory. It just don’t make sense to keep.

The voice like “I know you heard me” is kept in though!! The TVs will occasionally do that when starlings are active. Just the security camera function was cut out
