Airports || Adele/Dave
fakingkarofsky:
The fact that Adele wasnât freaking out, wasnât panicking, threw him off guard. He would have thought she was going to be a bit more freaked out about things, but it was nice a zthat she wasnât freaking out at the same time. He had always wondered what it would be like to be with someone officially like this, but had honestly never FOUND anyone he really wanted to be with like that. Part of him, in the past, had briefly thought about Adele, he had briefly spent a summer flirting with her, but then that changed quickly, and he had no desire to for quite some time. He nodded to the bartender, signaling that he too wanted another drink, he needed another drink.Â
He was still trying to figure details out, not entirely sure how they would actually make it work. After all, he was sure that neither of them really knew how to be an engaged couple, at least he assumed she had never been engaged. He stayed quiet, trying to think long and hard. âWe go there, keep it on the down, hopefully my dad will keep his mouth closed, and my mom. And then from there we just play the part. Who knows exactly what will happen, but assuming that we just pretend to be engaged, we just hang out, and then separate later? We should probably come up with some kind of story though? Whatâs your ideal engagement? Dream date? How do you think we should have met up?â
Adele remains quiet, almost in shock, her fingers tapping at the smooth surface of the bar. â...I saw the Vienna Philharmonic perform last month? We could say it happened there, or afterwards and you were so nervous you canât even remember the concert?â, her thumb moves to her mouth, biting at her thumbnail anxiously. Itâs one thing to lie to her parents, another to live a lie completely, but theyâre doing it for a good cause right?
 Her teeth worry at the fingernail before dropping her hand onto her lap, looking up as the announcement comes over the speaker that their flight is now boarding, and she moves to slide off the chair, brows creasing and her loose braid flipping over one shoulder as she rummages for her ticket in her purse. â....I donât know how we could have met.. Are there any cafes you go to regularly? Just like a casual run in maybe?â
