I was already shocked at this point:

Damn. When they see each other for the first time, he kind of makes a strange expression—almost like he expects to have a conversation with Griffith, some kind of interrogation(?). But after Femto looks down at him with contempt, he fills with fury, mixed with bitterness at what Femto says.

The Behelit is introduced to us by the old castle doctor—who I think might be an Apostle—saying that he was tortured by him, and that the same was done to his family right in front of him. Like Guts, he is missing a limb; Guts also saw his “family” being killed and tortured. Even so, up to that point I don’t think this forms a truly concrete or fully aligned parallel.

My brother says that this man and his story are a parallel between Guts and Griffith, but so far it seems to me much more like a parallel between Guts and the Apostles present during the Eclipse.

Guts looking like that while hearing such a sad story… Look at this, lol:

wow, man, what an idiot. What makes it a bit easier to accept is thinking that it wouldn’t be good for him to just talk to a stranger about the fear he feels when he’s touched:

It’s interesting to think about what he’s saying. I know he must be completely upset, but it makes me think of himself during the Eclipse, and of how Casca is at this point in the story.

He looks kind of cute in this panel:

This kind of thought feels strange. I know Guts never hesitated to kill, but unconsciously I draw parallels between everything that happens and everything that happened in the story.

Here I don’t know if it’s just shock, or if you can already see what Guts really is, that he wasn’t completely…

Guts already starts out being badass, even if he’s a bit rough with Puck

He reminded me of Griffith.

It’s very strange to see Guts speaking like this, not caring about people. From what I remember of the anime, he wasn’t sweet, but he seemed to care about others.

Does Guts hurt himself by scratching too…?

Hello, I’m starting to read the Berserk manga. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, but I kept putting it off. I’ve already watched both anime adaptations, and since I’m curious, I read things about it and watched videos. However, I want to share experiences and feelings while I read. I feel like it will be interesting, since while watching I thought so differently from my brother, so I want to make posts here to keep my thoughts.
