good morning fandom
I’ve always hated art theft. I try to correct it on whatever media I use, and I’ve been the victim of it numerous times myself. There was a week of my life I spent digging through art sites to credit every post on a Warcraft Facebook page which was chock-full of nothing but stolen art, some of which were even taken from my friends (and myself). In the end, with the support of my followers, we got the page taken down.
The moderator of that page remained silent through most of that ordeal (which annoyed me since I was looking for a peaceful resolution), but this guy just sends me through the roof. Between posts where he’s patting his back over how many RTs he’s gathered from my art, he’s taken to insulting both me and other members of the community who are asking him to do one simple thing: credit the artist. They’ve literally admitted that they don’t give a fuck.
Misused terminology aside (do they even realize what SJW means?), they are obviously reading the comments, seeing the complaints, and opting to blatantly ignore them and brag about ignoring them. They mention that I asked them to delete the post and credit me. I asked them to delete the art OR credit me. That’s literally all it takes. A tweet saying “This art was by this person”.
They block everybody who brings the subject up, including me about one minute after I tweeted at them, so it’s obvious that they won’t respond to anything other than a suspension or deletion. I’d like to ask those of you with twitters to report them for business impersonation. My twitter account (@Ragewang) is linked to my commission business (owned by me, obviously, at [email protected]), so feel free to use these details to fill out the boxes. Reblogs/signal boosts help too, especially if you’re involved in any art community which cares about issues like this.
Some people don’t realize that respectful treatment of content on the internet begins with the individual, and would rather be pricks than goddamn adults.
(thanks 2 sam 4 snoopin)
That is one weird family. >_>
