The process of photographing our book ready for putting onto our presenting boards! Along with some of the photographs themselves...
BLOBS App Design for Advice Book Project
As further development on making our advice book and greeting cards. Our final idea for this project was to create an app design where people could request something they might like to be illustrated with our style and buy it from us. The app works in the way that you choose something to design, such as a card or postcard etc… then if card is chosen, you choose what type of card, then submit all your request details and information. The prints will only be payed for once viewed and the customer is happy with the design.
Additional branding mock-ups, of the bikes Canal Cycle would rent out, displaying their logo for people to see whilst the bikes are being rode around.
Social Media
This is a Twitter page mock-up I have done, showing the search results of the hashtag #Cycleops. This basically shows how people would ‘tweet’ about the company and their services to the world.
I have just created a last page to the Cycleops App, so that when the customer has finished their journey and services with Canal Cycle, they will be taken to this page, where they will be encourages to post about their experience on social media, using the hashtag #Cycleops - which can be used on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
This is the existing logo design that the company have. Which I must admit, it isn’t very appealing at all and doesn’t give off any messages or signs that it is connected to a fashion market. I particularly don’t like the choice of typeface and the spacing between the N O and I doesn’t look visually appealing. Therefore I am going to scrap the whole design, but still stick to the idea of using type as the main aspect of the new logo, as it needs to be something that can be easily read, recognised and applied to different medias.
Freelance Work
Through showcasing my work through social media, it has allowed people to freely browse my work and contact me. I have recently been contacted by the director of an up and coming fashion brand called ‘So Noir’. The client is looking for a full re-brand, including a new logo design. The company is setting up a brand in an all black fashion marketplace, including a website consisting of upcoming brands and boutiques - with selected all black products - which has mid to premium range prices.
Therefore I am currently working with the client to discover a style that would suit them, the best way I can do this is gain some research about upcoming brands in the fashion marketplace.
Digital Portfolio/Feedback
Here are some screenshots of my original digital portfolio created to show to industry. I only chose a selected few projects as I felt these where my strongest ones at the time, however now I am in the process of completely re-designing it! At the Sal’s Takeaway networking event I spent some time talking to industry about my work and showing them my portfolio as well as other things. Which was extremely useful as I received important feedback, the issue was raised that I had too much going on in a single page - in-which I strongly agree- there are a lot of things put onto one page which makes it harder to focus on a single aspect of the page. I kind of didn’t want to bore anyone or make showing my work drag on longer than needed and that’s why I tried to put everything on one single page, however there is no need! I have learnt that I need to organise my portfolio so that it is more spaced out and include little narrative to each piece of work as that should do the talking... Also now since doing my original portfolio I have many more (and better) pieces of work to showcase.
Badges to match the layards, these could also possibly be used as stickers, stuck all around the festival.
Finally the third logo applied to the lanyard!
Showing how it would work with the other logos and different colour variations, found in the Glastonbury logo itself.
Undergoing some experimentation with the logos and applying them to different festival things such as lanyards. I thought it would be a nice idea to include a card about the campaign in the lanyard given at the festival itself, as it is something everybody looks through and would read it. It would just give brief information about the campaign and the affects peeing on the land have, persuading them not to do it.
An example of how the logo could be seen around the festival, encouraging people to wear them!
Quick Mock-Up of how the logos would work on badges that people could wear around the festival encouraging people not to pee on the land.
‘Don’t Pee’ Day Brief
Once evaluating my original logos with tutors and other students, I felt that my logos weren’t striking enough to provoke actions and that I needed to create something a little more shocking as the campaign is trying to discourage people from weeing on the farm land, which is intoxicating the land and killing wildlife. Therefore I needed to kind of put all these messages into one image, therefore I created a series of linking logos for the campaign.
Final Logo
Completely forgot to blog about my final logo for Canal Cycle Amsterdam, from much deliberation and slight editing I decided to stick with this final design. After pitching my ideas through my presentation I received positive feedback of my logo design.
