In June 2016, I will be writer-in-residence at Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts in Saratoga, Wyoming.

After Dad, my investigative memoir, traces the truth around the mysterious death of my father while overseas in Thailand. At Brush Creek, I plan to develop my companion digital map to this project which will consist of vivid visuals, videos and found sounds—an experiential, self-guided “walking tour” plotting my Dad's whereabouts during his last months alive.

Don't believe Beth Roddy when she says that it was an "accident" after she flashes you. With a pendulous vulnerability so intense at times as it swings from a Pollyanna-“who me?” innocence to the rapid-fire Post-Traumatic pinball clang of Pee Wee Herman’s Playhouse, you know it's meaty (and steamy) under the hood.

Beth's blanket of rage filtered with rare infusions of light is a mite off-putting, but count your blessings (and sheep) that it is a happy “accident” to experience her clawing within her dark crevices before she goes all Hallmark on us. Her dark quips ward off those who want "a rollicking good time." If you are looking for a "good" time, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a "rollicking" anything, look elsewhere. But, if you are looking for some good clean deranged fun, look Beth Roddy up and pump in a couple of quarters.
