She had to have been dreaming. There was no way she was alive. Sam blinked several times to make sure that Beth was still standing in front of her. The blonde was absolutely positive she looked like hell. “You don’t even want to know,” a soft chuckle escaped her lips. It felt weird to joke about the situation but Beth wouldn’t even understand. Green eyes fell on the wolves. The wolves were so obedient to their master, she watched carefully as she held out a hand to the animals. “I can’t believe you’re alive.” Her voice cracked. What would everyone do? No one knew that she was still alive and she could barely believe it herself. “I’d say so, what was that thing?” Her voice was soft as she glanced back at Beth.
“No, I’m pretty sure it’d help if I knew why you were out here. Alone.”
One of the wolves immediately stepped in to sniff at her hand, before it’s tail began to wag. While the other kept it’s distance, close to Beth’s side.
“It’s--uh. Called a Wendigo. It’s complicated, and a long story, so let’s get you back. Before anymore come along.”
She took hold of her hand, and turned, beginning to make her way off in one direction, as if she was certain where she was going.
“We’re going to take you back to the others.”
She glanced over her shoulder to Sam as she pulled her along.
“If we run into another Wendigo, you stay perfectly still. Got it? No moving. Unless you got a handy dandy flamethrower.” She patted her hand over her flamethrower, to emphasize how ‘handy dandy’ it really was.
