One minute you are hustling on the streets dealing with fake friends, the next you are agonizing over a fleeting love interest before ultimately subduing the pain by turning up with your crew.  This is the journey that Lurkavelli takes you on in the span of 15 minutes on his debut, COLD SUMMER. Lurkavelli comes from subsidized housing in the Lower East of NYC and is apart of the rap collective, New Lurk City.  Rather than just a collective of loose tracks, the finished joints on this EP paint a vivid picture of moments experienced by Lurkavelli, making it feel as though you are along with him and his crew as they go about their business.  This is the EP’s biggest strength and if Lurkavelli can sharpen this ability in his future projects by providing more unique perspectives, narratives and experiences, it will go along way to making another enjoyable project.
