Instagram prep.

I'm at the beach and I want to post to Instagram. You would think that's easy but, all the pictures are at home on my computer. To post the next picture in my collage I'm going to have to remote control my desktop. All this is usually avoided. I posts are all scheduled and post automatically once my computer is on and connected to the internet. Honestly that felt too easy. I felt disconnected so I didn't schedule my posts even thou I'm in a posting cycle. This is frustrating.

post antigua.

got back to st. kitts with no phone. crazy. when i came back i wanted to get back on twitter because i realize how ridiculous the things i think are and figured i should save them somewhere. but no phone. either way. post production. i feel like everything i thought i wanted this project to be, it is. but it isnt. Im still in control thou. i keep trying to reassure myself when things dont go exactly as i want them to by saying i am the master of time and space. lol i just have to keep believing in that and im okay. i want to take my time but i know i really cant. i hate when that happens but sometimes thats all it is..promotion by september? on air by october?

theres still some stuff i have to collect from the team, audio and what not.. hmm.. i hope i can keep up with this and my social media.

Dream Quest

This project was done on assignment for school; a web animation course. I have so many thoughts about it really. It literally is my thoughts and feelings on how Jamaica and my campus makes me feel sometimes. I wrote this and had to hurry editing to submit for a grade. It was an experience, doing all the editing in about a day while managing other assignments. It was graded on the animations on the phone screen and YouTube’s annotations ability to make it interactive. I liked the idea and I was gonna re do the edit and polish it up a bit, then I thought why? I like it. It is extremely rough around the edges. Like me!  

It basically follows a girl in her dream. If she doesn't keep dreaming she’ll wake up and simply never know. It pretty much represents my life and the endeavors that I undertake. Initially I was never going to make this public because it was rush work but then I realized how much of me it really was. After this project grew on me I realized how much it really identified me.

I decided to wait until now to post it.

Sentimental value came after I realized I would never have time to really fix this to publish it online. I decided to take on a bigger project. A project that I dreamt of since 2013. It was time for my Dream Quest.

I went to Antigua for 3 weeks to independently produce a TV show. In the coming weeks I’ll post pieces of that show until it’s release on TV stations and networks around the Caribbean.

This is the beginning.

I can finally say its done. I’ve realized that experience is the only way to move forward. A project that I always wanted to do, that I had so many doubts about, is finally in the bag, or at least something like that.

I feel like the experience I gained from working on this project is just the beginning. There were so many ups and downs throughout the entire process. I had to commit to myself not to write about it until it was all over. I guess I was trying o make sure I did made it all the way through, or to a point where I was comfortable to stop. I regret that decision now because it’s so much to mention.

Each step in taking this production from preproduction all the way to post and now publishing, had a major lesson to learn for all of my future work. The biggest thing I should take out if it is to remember I challenge myself to create things. I have to remember it’s a challenge. I can only get better at creating and communicating my thoughts and imagination.

I’m proud of what we made.

I feel like...

I feel like creating this brand identity is me translating how i feel about the particular topic and making it into a mood, visually, for the viewers. i want them to understand everything they see and be able to easily relate what they’re seeing to a feeling or at least action that they themselves know very well; because we all live it. the millennials, and even those before us are living it more and more.  I dont know how else to explain it.

the week started well. we got a full confirmation from ellen bay inn. they responded to the contract i sent them.. 😖...the lady i was talking to.. monique.. said she has school... and put me on to judith.. both of whom seem to be from canada.. on board but..... but she wants me to put down a deposit 😕when we 🙁 get there. ☹ for the cost of our stay 😣 ..told her thats okay.. 🙂 when they are ready.

 carissa also got paige pond in as well. but we waiting on one last phone call to confirm the dates that they suggested.. which is first.. july 17-21.. they werent answering the phones all day.  

no one was really..

of all the places i had to call today the best luck was with place called date palm apartments lol.. it was interesting.. the lady..Anne.. is alumni.. fortunately i mentioned early in the pitch that we are all UWI students lol.. she said besides that shes not buying it lol..she talked me up for a bit lol and then told me to send her the documents.... i did..... she called back.. she is the first person to call me back .. saying she likes it. lol she was impressed by us young people doing things.. thankfully she came on board.. so we there for the july 29th-2nd..she knows kaboo and his dad muhahaha....

there are 2 promising propects im talking to.. i think carissa has people too.. ooh.. onica came on board.. added to the whatsapp group... shes been talking to this one place.. jolly castle....we hopful on that.. 

alsoo... there was a blunder on my part  i miscounted the days... so instead of us needing 6 hotels. we need 5.. we have 3 of 5.. hoping to fill those final dates by the end of the week...
