If I don’t message you for months it’s not because I don’t like you it’s because I have no idea what to say to other humans that would interest them
I understand this 100%, & the following is a lengthy almost rant like Monologue, that may seem unrelated... unless you actually read it all the way through, & take the time to read it thoroughly.
This is basically me when my anxiety runs out of steam, I begin with the impression of a chatterbox, but I'm really not that talkative on a regular basis, & I generally stop talking when I feel like I have nothing else to say, & when I see that the interest in what I have said is minimal at best.
For when I decide the other person isn't interested in talking to me anymore, I don't make much effort to maintain a non-existent conversation. If anything, I get annoyed at myself for even saying anything at all in those situations, because it's sort of misleading to have a person show interest then just up & ghost. 🙄
Like seriously, 99% of the people I have met online, I don't even talk to longer than a few months... if that. Of those who I do succeed in talking to for more than a year, that number can be held to a single hand, with room to spare.
The only people I actually have any long term friendships with are people who I first met in person.
So, I guess the end result is that I only really know enough about the people I meet in person, to actually hold a proper conversation.
The other thing is that my perception of time seems to be very different from everyone else I know, & the closest thing I have heard that seems to fit is that it's like I am constantly in some sort of New Agey/Hippie Meditation State where I control the speed of time, & basically remember it all...like Madame Razz in the Netflix She-ra Series, or like Mister Manhattan on a smaller scale...I say smaller since I don't have backwards influence... except on weird occasions. Basically Deja Vu on Super Steroids, since when it happens, it's literally like I am reliving a whole segment of time. This may seem unrelated, but it is related to a degree.
Basically, I remember any conversation with a person like it happened only minutes ago, & the intervening time has absolutely no impact on my ability to react to a person.
My oldest friend, and this may be a repeat, said that I hadn't changed at all, despite more than 14 years since our last interaction. 14 years in which I had completed Elementary School, Middle School, High School, & Already had an Associate's degree. I had been pushed into a street by a bully in 6th Grade, I had finally come to terms with being Gay, & I had dealt with Major Mental Health issues during that time, but somehow, I hadn't actually changed who I was during that time.
That's not at all what a person expects to hear after 14 years of separation. I had basically been able to keep our friendship in suspended animation. There was no period of getting reacquainted, because there was no need to do so in my mind.
I could remember them & how I felt around them, so I didn't feel the need or any discomfort that many people do when time & distance are involved.
This ability to remember & act like time is not a factor seems to distress many people who haven't met me in person. For me, Time is only a factor in certain things...like:
Have I had enough time to listen to the other person to get to know them, & understand who they are to a degree?
Other than that, time has no place in my perception of things really...even if society runs on it, it's more of a frame in which people register patterns that repeat, & not something that holds an absolute value.
One minute when I am interested in something is much longer than a minute in which I have no interest in anything. So, I hardly ever feel boredom, & when I do, it's extremely short lived. I also don't make as much ado in anticipation for things, because I am that good at controlling the flow of time in my perception. A year now doesn't feel any shorter than a year did when I was five, & that's partly because I can find so many things that interest me. I haven't been able to grow up in some senses you could say. The world is always new to me, even if some parts are relatively the same, there's always something new to be found. I haven't been able to lose my childish sense of delight for the world essentially, despite what has happened during my life.
That's probably why I don't get along with people who are superficial, they no longer see the world. All they see is what they expect to see. They're the ones who disappoint me the most, because I would like to show them what I see, but they're so wrapped up in themselves that I can't figure out what to say, & so...I say nothing. 😔

people apparently think rubber bullets aren't dangerous or something. they're bullets with a thin rubber coating, they're generally not, as some seem to believe, bullets made from rubber. they've got the capacity to seriously injure and kill. there is nothing nonviolent or lenient about rubber bullets.
Good to know...
if you’re white and are protesting, please, please listen to this. if you’re white and have white friends protesting, let them know
this all blows in the face of Black and brown people protesting
Proof that white people are entitled.
The fact that this kind of message exists, shows that racism exists & thrives.
White people who support these protesters need to be models of good protesting behavior to ensure that the protests are not just effective, but also can be sustainable & enact the changes that are required.
Otherwise you're a part of the problem & you're a hindrance to their message.
Even if a person of color misbehaves due to temporary insanity brought about by the accumulated pressure created by the ills of our society, it doesn't grant anyone else the right to release their pain & grief in that manner. Even that one person is more than likely to already have issues you are not aware of & that they just got swept up by the protesters by accident, & their actions have pretty much nothing to do with the protest to begin with.
Most of the looting & rioting is started by people who are completely uninterested in the protest that is occurring. All they seek to do is spread destruction & chaos. Taking advantage of the disorder for personal gain.
I would think people have seen enough dramatic Hollywood & TV sequences where the main characters want a distraction so they create a mob or similar chaos, with a goal that's usually entirely different from the main character's.
Know your rights.
While people are inclined to whip out their phones and film when they see something alarming happening, those videos are not always recorded in a way that can be used as evidence in a legal proceeding or to support advocacy tactics.
At the human rights organization WITNESS, where I work as the senior U.S. program coordinator, we’ve learned that video has a greater chance of making an impact when it’s filmed ethically and strategically, and released in coordination with advocacy and legal efforts. Using the camera in your pocket can be a valuable way to ensure the world bears witness to abusive policing and systemic racism, help hold authorities accountable, and advocate for the real safety of our communities.
Teen Vogue still hitting it out of the park, I see.
HOLY SHIT. This was extremely informative. Please everyone READ THIS!!!
This is a sad, but likely truth.
In the old south of Martin Luther King's time it was definitely true.
Sounds pretty accurate.
As well as pretty stupid.
The MAGA's, the Megachurch disciples, & similar people who ignore the racism, the economic injustices, & so on are the problem & they just don't want to be a part of the solution, so they try to find every single reason possible to not listen to those in need, because a select few people they idolize tell them by ignoring those people, that they will be taking the high road to riches.
Well, in reality the only road they're walking on is a pile of bodies in a treacherous swamp, each step they take down that road hurts more people every day, & takes them further into that swamp. Some recognize on some level that the path they're on is wrong but they're too afraid to break from the heard when they have a chance, & decide to keep taking the road of bodies, made from those abandoned, instead of getting on the real high road that leads out of the swamp.
Vote
Vote for those who are active in the social justice realm, Vote for progressives, Vote for people who are not white old men or white supremacists (because white supremacists aren't necessarily white, some people of color have insecurities & will epitomize white people as being better than others. The latter is more subtle & dangerous by far though.)
10 Heartwarming Stories To Renew Your Faith in Humanity
Okay this. This is actually heartwarming. That someone fought so hard for this young man who was wrongfully accused and won. This (aside from the fact that it was a black man accused for a crime unfairly associated with black men) is not symptom of a wider failing system. This if anything is a true victory over that system.
Kudos to the writer I hope they do well.
This is good.
Touché
It's also weird that the Death Tolls that once sent this nation on a War Path of Destruction are now considered justifiable sacrifices to maintain an economic system that will break down anyways as a result of the mounting death tolls.
Along with the consequences of the other factors that the same people who are pushing for maintaining the economic system, coming due at about the same time.
Even without this Virus, the economy would be heading into very unstable times based on the history of how it works, & the policies in place to regulate it, or lack thereof.
However, the Virus also adds in a much heavier Death Toll, & will likely increase the dangerous situation even more than people are expecting.
