apparently i have clawed my way out of the grave and back onto tumblr. not that anyone noticed my absence, naturally. the internet is an endless ocean and i am little more than a grain of sand rattling around at the bottom of it. nevertheless, i have returned to tend to this neglected corner of the world and fill it with my thoughts on books, art, video games, and whatever else decides to take up residence in my brain.
i prefer to keep my real name tucked safely away, so you may call me Lux.
i'm twenty-nine years old, professionally employed as a servant to a very spoiled british shorthair, and perpetually drawn toward crime fiction, victorian literature, and horror novels that become progressively stranger, bloodier, and more unsettling with every chapter.
beyond books, i have always been fascinated by languages. i speak german, english, and russian, though i often find myself dreaming of the languages i have yet to learn. i would love to be able to speak french, greek and swedish fluently one day.

my first great video game love was final fantasy x, and mentioning it within earshot of me is generally considered a dangerous activity. i will happily drag you down that rabbit hole and escort you personally to zanarkand if you lend me an ear and your hand.
beyond that, i spend a great deal of time mentally wandering through the elder scrolls universe, and a coffee date with me at home means listening to the 10 hour Oblivion youtube mix that i have been listening to since i discovered it in 2018 while yapping about every day life. i love collecting cozy games in my steam library and i like to convince myself that i enjoy horror games. i have discovered that i possess an endless supply of courage when reading horror novels, but considerably less when something is stalking me through a dark corridor and i am the one holding the controller. so, when it comes to actually playing horror games, i suddenly require emotional support and at least one brave volunteer sitting beside me.
i am fueled primarily by tea and my part-time job includes creating delicate little trees from copper wire and pearls. i have always been drawn to things that feel a little magical, a little handmade, and a little out of time. did i mention that i love the sound of the word 'little'. maybe because, for me, it is a word filled with so much tenderness. i have a little space in my home which is called 'atelier of a little girl'. not because i wish to remain a child, but because the word reminds me of all the things i never want to lose: wonder, curiosity, the ability to find entire worlds hidden inside ordinary things. it always reminds me of the life i am trying to lead. a quiet one, perhaps. a little one. but it'll be a life full of magic nonetheless.
and i suppose that is enough about me for now.
so, consider this little blog an ever-growing collection of books, thoughts, obsessions, and beautiful things. make yourself at home, stay a while, and tell me about the stories that have left their fingerprints on your soul or don't (and we will never cross paths again in this vast cosmos of the internet). either way, welcome. i am glad you are here.
