ive been thinking very deeply about adin lately, about his connections with his godly parents and the way hes afraid of letting go of that past bc it means hes a No One with No Origins Otherwise and mmm its good

im here in time for spell discussions YEAH BABY adin's magic has a touch of wild, untamed energy to it in a very draconic fashion. none of it is in perfect shapes when cast with one major exception.

his illusory spells are perfect at a glance. it takes a lot to look at one of his illusions and see that it is indeed false. it's his pride and joy and something he has worked very hard on for a long time.

his magic appears color wise to be hard to look at, like colors illuminated under a blacklight, and would have been spectacular specifically in the underdark. if an enchantment spell succeeds on an opponent, they are marked by him in some way, usually with lolth's spider marking, for the duration of the spell.

deeply thinking about adin's nonbinary identity as a nb transmasculine individual in the sense that he clings to the feminine identity of being a child of lolth but also puts on the responsibilities and (in some cases) the negativity of the masculine identity in drow culture in order to strike out in the place he specializes in (the arcane arts and the sorcere) and like. the straddling of that line in his life mirroring his straddling of being a child of bhaal and lolth and being drow and draconic and...........

each of the lost children of bhaal have a symbol of lolth on their body, to claim them as HER children more than bhaal's blood, and adin's is on his tongue. there are small black markings around his lips that only look like pointed markings until he opens his mouth and you can see they are the legs of the spider marking. he's very proud of this mark, because of his connection to the web mother.

the path to the shadow-cursed lands lay before them, which meant the underdark would be behind them soon. their rations had not suffered much (thankfully due to the two of them having a good sum knowledge of things to eat down here) and adinirahc did not even deign to make eye contact with sol'rys as they spoke.

once out of the underdark proper, adinirahc will summon his familiar at the earliest opportunity - a creature of abyssal origins named Dust that will take the form of a spider, a snake or a weasel. this creature has been at adin's side since he was very young, and is adin's closest confidant. it does not care much for other people but will flee instead of fighting, an echo of adin's own cowardice.
