It's been 84 years later but I still love Snarry 😔
Update
So...this was a long time coming.
In case it wasn't obvious...this blog is inactive. Like 2 years ago, I was already losing interest in using tumblr and then the Purge happened and I pretty much gave up on it.
Plus I'm just not into HP anymore. At least the fandom part. It's just too toxic and I hate that I can't say I like a certain character without someone hating me for it. I don't WANT to have to argue about that every single day and I just want to go "yes he's an asshole but I love him anyway" but the HP fandom won't just leave it at that and I HATE it. I remember switching to this blog and feeling EXHAUSTED after interacting with posts and stuff. It wasn't fun anymore and I was tired.
Of course, everyone in the Snape fandom is great, I love you all and you're what kept me around, especially the few friends I made.
ESPECIALLY those who ship Snarry. You the real MVP'S!!!💗
And while I still love Severus and Harry and their love for each other, idk, it just doesn't interest me as much anymore??? Which makes me sad, but it's just how it is.
So, this blog is inactive for now, but I'm definitely not gonna delete it or anything.
Maybe one day, I'll get my interest back and return, but for now this is goodbye. This blog helped me through some rough times and I'm glad I made it and found people with a common interest and was able to make some friends!! You're all great and I will miss you!!!💗
Happy V day :>
It would have been awesome if head of the houses weren’t allowed to award or deduct points from other houses and when they needed to do so they would have to approach someone else… Like-
Snape: Deduct 5 points from Griffindor.
Any Prof: Why?
Snape: Because Miss Granger answered my question.
Any Prof: WTF????
If this is about the incident in PoA where Snape is covering Lupin’s lesson, and he deducts 5 points from Hermione for speaking out of turn, then I think this actually raises a rather more interesting discussion.
Firstly, let’s be clear - any professor would side with their fellow teacher. Hermione’s point deduction was not, as you suggest, for answering the question - but for speaking out of turn when she had not been invited to answer; in doing so, Hermione disrespects Snape’s authority.
But rather more interestingly, it’s worth looking at the wider lesson - Harry turns up late, and Snape deducts points accordingly. Snape then has to tell Harry to sit down three times, and on the third time, he deducts more points and threatens to remove fifty points as a deterrent, and Harry finally relents.
So when Hermione starts speaking out of turn, Snape is already dealing with an air of disrespect in the classroom - and for once, he is an interloper - he might still be a teacher, but he’s the wrong teacher, and the children are questioning his authority.
Importantly, during all of this, Snape does give latitude - he deducts points when Hermione interrupts for the second time, not the first, and he invites Harry to sit down more than once before deducting points. You can see similar escalation with Ron - Snape warns Hermione that he is teaching the lesson, and then when Ron argues about Hermione’s punishment, Snape gives him detention for the same infraction that Hermione had been warned about: “…if I ever hear you criticise the way I teach a class again, you will be very sorry indeed.”
The thing is, the way the kids react in these scenes is very real and absolutely understandable for their characters - Harry challenges authority when he doesn’t respect it, Ron defends his friends, and Hermione wants to impart her knowledge. …but the frustrating thing is that Snape’s reaction is equally understandable, and yet, many don’t seem to recognise it. It isn’t him being a git - it’s him being a teacher with authority.
It’s not unreasonable for him to expect kids to arrive at his lesson on time, sit down, and speak when they’re called upon instead of disrupting the class by speaking out of turn.
snape’s point deductions are rarely without merit tbh. there are some glaring outliers, but throughout the series snape takes points for a variety of reasons that are actually within his purview as a teacher: disruptions, out-of-turn talking, disrespect, rule-breaking, etc. it’s not unreasonable for him to take points from students who participate in that behavior and it’s not him just being a dick.
also like… he’s a teacher - and, even more importantly, a teacher who is in charge of a class that can result in injury or worse if not managed strictly. some of my strictest teachers were my chemistry teachers - bc if you get something wrong in lab, it is actually possible to hurt yourself or others. potions is a volatile subject and it does make sense to me that snape would want to rule with an iron fist, esp considering some of his students are young. (have YOU ever tried teaching 11 year olds? i have. they’re terrible at focusing and if they can hurt themselves with something, they will.)
like yeah, harry & co think it’s unfair and sometimes it might be - but not always. of course the kid who speaks out of turn thinks it’s unfair when a teacher tells him to stop talking and then takes points when they don’t listen. snape is actually an authority in the classroom, regardless of the trio’s personal feelings toward him.
I was 13 when i first picked up a HP book, and i always saw that “snape deducts point from hermione bc she answers questions” as reasonable. Bc around that time, i was the smartass in my class, and i was docked points for this a lot, until a teacher told me: it’s not getting the answers right and moving on, it’s about learning. It’s for the kids with difficulties, the kids who are learning in a foreign language, for kids who need to understand the content instead of parroting it.
My answering the questions for my classmates i was taking their chance at learning, the content and the process. Bc when pace of the class is set to the smart one, everyone else gets dragged along and nobody’s going to put an effort in anything. I was smart in history, not chemistry, and that got boring very fast.
So yeah, you all can miss me with that nonsense. It’s called perspective.
Snape’s point deductions were hardly as unreasonable as some remember them to be, and on a related note, they weren’t as numerous either. When he takes points, it’s usually because of classroom misbehavior, and he takes small amounts of points. If I remember correctly, when he takes points it’s almost always no more than 5 or 10 at a time. And we’re in his classroom more often that we are in other teacher’s classrooms, so we see him take points in class most. So while I’m sure that he took more points than many of the other professors, we see him take a lot more in comparison simply because we see his classroom a lot more than we see others’. There’s a post somewhere that lists how many points were taken by each professor throughout the entire series, and Snape and McGonagall were almost equal. But most of Snape’s were in many small amounts, and most of McGonagall’s were in a few large amounts. Most of the view of Snape unfairly taking a lot of points comes from what events are depicted in the book because of relevance. And Snape didn’t give a single point throughout all seven books, so the idea that he made Slytherin win the house cup because of all the points he gave is just ridiculous.
You: snape took points unfairly just because he hated The Golden Gryffindor Trio™!!!11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!
Me, an intellectual: snape was being a Teacher™
A scene from “The Marriage Stone” by Josephine Darcy;
“Severus shoved opened the scorched door and dropped to his knees beside Harry, his heart moving to his throat as he stared at the damage done. Arrows in the right shoulder and left leg, numerous cuts bleeding profusely, a large chunk of wood embedded in his left bicep. His shirt was nearly soaked in blood, and with trembling hands Severus cast a spell to stop the bleeding before he bled himself dry.
“Harry?” he called, pulling the boy into his arms, trying hard not to jostle the wounds too severely. He tapped lightly at Harry’s face, trying to see if he was suffering from a curse or just passed out from pain or blood loss.
Harry moaned softly, his eyes fluttering open. “Snape?” he whispered, blood on his lips. His glasses were broken and Snape removed them, stuffing them in his robes along with Harry’s wand
[…]
“Rest, Harry,” he urged gently. “I’ll get you back to the castle.”
Harry slumped against him, saying nothing as Severus lifted him up into his arms and carried him out of the scorched bookstore.”

“You’ll stay with me?”
“Always.”
Potions master
My family now has 4 cats and even tho my sister and mom say they're going to find a home for the newest cat, I know that I'll be the one taking care of it when it inevitably becomes ours because they said that about our last cat and now he cries and scratches at my door to come inside my room so he can sleep on my bed.
Harry looked at the children running in the garden, barefoot and screaming, completely caught up in their game. He remembered how he got here, how many years of hardship and pain and loss it took to finally arrive to a place of happiness and serenity. But as he touched the ring on his finger, he knew it had all been worth it.
“Look, Severus. Look what we made.”
Severus did look, and couldn’t even be bothered to feel annoyed at the fact that the kids were getting their clothes dirty and there will most likely be mud and grass everywhere in the house later. He was lucky to be here, lucky to have lived to marry and settle down. He never imagined it would be with Harry Potter, but now he can’t imagine life without him. Maybe it’s karma for having cursed Potters all these years. Now he has a few of his own. The joke is, as always, on him. This time however, Severus doesn’t mind.
He wrapped his arm around his husband and pressed a kiss to the bird’s nest that is Harry’s hair. It’s his favourite, although he would rather die than admit it.
“We did well, Harry.”

Hey Maya! Can you recommend some weird fics? Snarry fics that are just strange or messed up? (asking for a friend)
ooohhh boy 😅 I’m gonna get judged hard for these aren’t I….
The thing is, I usually go for the more calm, basic stuff but sometimes I come across something and I’m just like.. okay I’ll give it a chance
Mine And My Lovers’ by NecromanticNoir We all like Harry getting fucked by Snape, right? Well what about TWO Snapes???? Even better, right? Like ‘buy one, get one free’. The Snapes get jealous over each other, Harry’s just happy to get dicked down hard. But really, I think this fic is really funny, and also a total train wreck.
Gets It from His Father by abstractconceptThis fic is the very unholy mix between Snarry and Severitus. A Snarryody (aka Snarry parody lol). It shouldn’t really be taken seriously haha. Basically it’s dad/son incest. They don’t know they’re related until the last part of the fic lol.
Reconciling Lily’s Eyes by persepolis130This fic is sort of a Snarry classic but honestly, I went into this 100% seriously. I thought it was going to be like a very in depth fic about Severus’ Lily/Harry dilemma. Well, it wasn’t. I felt like I was being trolled. It’s a ridiculous, weird fic. I felt a bit grossed out by it at times and I don’t actually know if I like it or not. It was entertaining, I’ll give it that.
The Darkest Corner (Of My Heart) by NecromanticNoirThis is one of the darker fics. Incredibly fucked up, borderline beastiality, dubious consent, Snape has lots of issues.
Little Boy Lost (+ the sequel Little Boy Found) by Eriador117Daddy kink, age play. I think it sums it up. It’s also the fic where Severus nuts from eating Harry’s ass. Not really messed up tbh, just Daddy kink in Snarry is an interesting territory.
Parseltongue-Tied by DementorDeltaSnape’s animagus form is a black snake. He starts chilling with Harry and well, the reason it’s in this list is because Severus is a horny snake and yes, Harry really is that desperate and lonely.
A Change in Relation by tainted-tashLily lived, and she and Severus are married. Harry is Severus’ step son. I think we all know where this is going lol. Severus and Harry aren’t related but Severus does raise Harry. Another unholy Snarry/Severitus mix lmao. Also Lily is really messed up here, abusive. A very serious fic.
My Father’s Eyes by 8inchCaliperOf course, I’ve had an incest fic here, and a Daddy Kink fic here. How about we combine those, hm? This is a more serious one as well. Severus did not raise Harry, but he knew they were related. Harry finds out, and hell breaks loose.
Making this made me really think about my life choices but oh well
Harry in Snape’s cloak, with adorable afterglow.
Fun fact: Around the end of elementary school and throughout middle school (so grades 4-8), I would often get made fun of for looking like Severus Snape. Mostly because my hair was shoulder length at the time and also because my nose was always made fun of for being big.
But I hadn't read the hp series at the time and when I did later, Snape's character didn't register to me for some reason. So I was clueless when they made fun of me.
BUT NOW I KNOW WHO SEVERUS SNAPE IS. AND JOKES ON THOSE JERKS FOR COMPARING ME TO HIM BECAUSE I LOVE SEV. Now I know I can easily cosplay as him, if I want
Aw heck, I’ve got more for snarry: 33, 40 and 46. I blame you for 102% of my new snarry obsession btw. Damn you. (<3)
*evil laughter* YES YES YES that’s fantastic. i 102% take the blame
33. How do they refer to the other in public? how do other people refer to the other? (i.e. “my partner”, “ask your father”, “dad and papa”, “how’s your wife?“, etc)
Severus likes to use ‘Potter’ in public, even when they get married and Harry is no longer a Potter but Potter-Snape. (He also uses ‘Potter’ when he wants to get him all riled up. It works, and Harry is a lot rougher, which is exactly what Severus intended.) Severus refers to Harry as his husband when he’s staking his claim. Like when some idiot’s trying to flirt with Harry right in front of him. Severus very much likes to remind everyone that Harry is his, and his only. Harry just calls him Severus, like he does at home. Their children refer to Harry as ‘dad’ and Severus as ‘papa’. Severus accepted the name after he realized no 8 month old baby can pronounce his name. Harry was in tears laughing when he heard the children messing up Severus’ name, and no matter how many times Severus tried to convince them to say “Se-ve-rus”, his name always ended up sounding something like “vus”. So ‘papa’ it became.
40. Who cusses more?
At first it was Harry, and Severus always reprimanded him for it. Severus LOVES to curse, but he’s learnt to hold himself back for years, he worked at a school after all. But after he leaves Hogwarts, Harry starts hearing more and more curse words roll off Severus tongue. So for a while they let their speech be really relaxed and they say whatever they want, especially at home. Severus enjoys the freedom of cursing and Harry finds it amusing.Once the children arrive however…. they realize they have to hold back. They tried to control their speech more before the birth, and by the time the babies were born they were fairly good at it. But sometimes, you know… it slips out. Severus’ potion went wrong, the one he had been working on for DAYS, and he let out a loud ‘FUCK’ that the children heard, of course. He paid dearly for his mistake when Ron and Hermione came to visit and the first greeting they got was a high pitched, enthusiastic ‘fuck’ form Harry and Severus’ daughter. Hermione was mildly offended but also amused, Ron was laughing like crazy, especially when he saw the guilty look on both of the fathers’ faces.
46. Morning routine?
Severus wakes up first, and tries to wake Harry up as well. It takes patience and time because Harry sleeps like dead when he’s with Severus. The only thing Harry will wake up for is sex and saving the world. They both like the first one, so usually they start by taking care of that. After they’re done, they go brush teeth, shave, take a shower, all that. Then Harry gets dressed while Severus makes breakfast (just in a bathrobe ;) ). They eat, kiss each other goodbye, and Harry goes to work while Severus does the mundane stuff like sort through mail, check which Potions he has to brew that day etc. When Harry doesn’t need to go to work they spend a little longer in bed, taking their time. And Harry cooks breakfast.
