Performance collaboration with iKonâs Junhoe
Requested by xana99:Â for the imagine I would like hm, him falling in love during a collaboration my group had with his (ikon junhoe)
S/N: So I actually ended up writing this drabble because I felt bad turning it down. But also because I thought itâd be fun to write it and test my writing skills (to which I found out Iâm horrible lol. Only decided to upload since I already did it.) But Iâm not sure if Iâll keep up with writing imagines though.. Um, Iâm not too fond of writing dialogue, so yeah.. this is how it turned out.
S/N #2: I also changed the plot/story a little bit.. just a few tweaks, hope itâs not too bad. ^^;;
S/N #3: Oh yeah! I think listening to Zion.Tâs Babay would really help. Since I used it as my inspiration to write this and well.. since itâs the song you and Junhoe are performing together.
You were the exactly the type of person Junhoe wouldnât find himself attracted to. You had short hair, barely grazing your shoulder blades. Oh, not to mention, you were short too, and too slim, without any curves to admire. There was not a moment where Junhoe didnât see you without your glasses; in fact, none of your fans had seen you without your glasses either, as you had chosen to wear them in public and on stage, rather than donning contact lenses like other idolsâglasses were known to be your signature item. On top of that, you were a rapper for your group, and Junhoe had known for a while that he deeply preferred powerhouse vocals in a girl.
When Junhoe was first informed heâd be collaborating with you for SBS Inkigayo Summer Special, there wasnât much for him to feel or think. Your group was an on-the-rise rookie group, and your music wasnât bad. Self-produced, a lot of tracks from different genres, though Junhoe did like your groupâs R&B music most. He didnât pay too much attention to girl groups like his members did, nonetheless the members of your own group; he saw you guys on TV every now and then, and Junhoe had thought the other rapper in your group was prettier.
So it really came to be a shock for him when he found that he was looking forward to practicing with you more and more. He got to rehearse you guysâ cover of Zion Tâs Babay with you three times a week for two weeks before actually performing it live on SBS. After the second time you two had met up to rehearse, Junhoe was struck with the urge to want to see you again very soon. Shortly after feeling that way, he convinced himself that it was just your fun personality and talent as an artist that made it enjoyable to be with you.
But something was definitely wrong. Eventually, Junhoe began to wonder which glasses youâd wear to rehearsalâhe really liked those black, round frames you wore; they really suited your face shape. He began to wonder how many pairs of Adidas leggings you owned, and also wondered why they looked so good on your short, tiny legs. He began to enjoy waiting on you while you re-braided what you could of that short hair of yours.
Your personality wasnât half bad either. Not once did you seem to get upset with Junhoe over jokes or remarks heâd say, and instead, youâd have a comeback for any snarky comment heâd manage to cook up. And if you didnât, youâd just laugh and did that habitual head shaking you did when you giggled, and heâd happily watch the ends of your hair tickle your shoulders. You were certainly playful and lively and a jokester. You admitted things that most girls wouldnât admit to with a guy that hardly knew, like when you were hungry, you lightheartedly demanded Junhoe to get you something from the vending machine, or when you needed to use the restroom, you would quickly bolt out of the recording room and yell to inform Junhoe where you were going when you were already halfway down the hall. You were comfortable and relaxed wherever you went, and Junhoe found that an especially refreshing charm about you.
Junhoe found out what was wrong the day of you twoâs collaboration stage. You cut your hair even shorter since the last time he saw you, and it still looked good on you. You were wearing shorts, though you didnât have long legs to show off, and he still thought it was becoming on you. You wore your clear-framed glasses instead of the circle-framed ones, and for a second, Junhoe thought he preferred these glasses on you more.
Your combined chemistry on stage was phenomenal. The way you flirtatiously batted your eyelashes at both him and the cameras, the way you danced with your back to him, your shoulders dropping and rising and dropping and rising, your hips swiveling back and forth and back and forth, everything, every single gesture you did.
After your performance together had ended, Junhoe figured he wouldnât see you as often anymore. Maybe star on the same television program now and then, maybe see each other backstage if your groups were to promote at the same time later in the future. But he couldnât just rely on chance to get the opportunity to talk to you againâhe really liked you. Or at least your presence. Or at least having you by his side. Or, yeah, he did like you, but admitting that to himself sounded weird.
So after the entire show had ended, he ran through crowds and crowds of idols just to find you and ask you the golden question, âHey, can I have your number?â
Of course, it didnât come out as planned. Upon finding you and taking you by the shoulder to face him, Junhoe suddenly grew very shy, very nervous, and probably even sweated from his temples. Instead, he had blurted, âHey, Y/N, I think itâs possible that I like you, but Iâm not sure, so I probably need your number so I can talk to you more, and uh, yeah, find out if I like you. I probably do like you though, or else I wouldnât be interested in asking you for your number in the first place, and uh-â
To this, you giggled, shaking your head in a positive manner, your hair now too short to even touch your shoulders, and joyously complied with his request. âHey, Junhoe-ssi? You can shut up now. I got it. Give me your phone,â and you punched your cell number into his contacts and saved your name with a winky-face emoji beside it.
âBy the way,â you started, turning around, in the midst of ambling away, âIâm pretty sure I like you too.â
