Dark Lord Lore

He was taking over the kingdom but unfortunately it's been far too easy and he's making progress way too quickly for his liking. Every hero who stepped up to him was swiftly killed in an unsatisfying fight.

So he has started to get bored with the whole thing and has been deliberately slowing down and drawing all of his conquests out. He has a lot of free time now.

The current hero could easily be stomped on. However he has become one of those villains that says shit like "Guards... take him away!" instead of killing the hero outright, so that there's a chance of him escaping and foiling his plans later. so something interesting happens. 

He keeps making him think that he won or escaped by his own skill, so that he can have a rival that will hopefully improve with each attempt at defeating him. Unfortunately he is getting a bit attached after holding him as a damsel so many times.

His minions are disappointed and think he is getting soft, but they will not revolt because if any of them pipes up he picks them up and eats them.

The hero (Aurelio) 's lore is that he is The Chosen One however this concept seems to be specific to his home town's insular religion, because while travelling the world nobody else knows who he is or wtf he's talking about

Which is why he is not being very successful at defeating the king of evil. Despite what the prophecy foretold.
