Oka wasn’t very good with sign language, she had lessons on it. This was because she had volunteer work she was sentenced too. She picked up a little bit but not much. Oka knew he what he asked, after a moment of taking it in and processing. She tilted her head slightly and turned away so her face was to the front of the class.

"Why not? I’m not busy talking to anyone else in here. Neither are you, right? Besides we’re sitting next to each other so I figured why not." Oka’s face turned back to him, still with a friendly smile. "I’m not bothering you, am I?" She asked him, making a slight frown.

he shook his head no, he liked the company.

he held out his hand so she could shake it, Mondo was usually alone due to his only friends in the other classes.

he tried laughing but all that came out were huffs.

Oka smiled again. When he singled that he like the company, she nodded. “I’m glad.”

She reached out her hand as well, and then took a hold of his. His hand was much bigger and firm than hers but she didn’t mind that. Once he tried to laugh she did too, but not at him. Oka was laughing with him.

he continued huffing and he wrote something down and gave it to her. 

It said “Thank you. Also, I like your voice!”

Oka took the paper to read what Mondo had written on the paper. She blushed slightly but quickly hid it. When she looked up, her smile was a little bigger. 

"No problem. And thanks to you as well. I never knew someone could complement me on the sound of my voice." She explained to him.

he wrote down on another "well I can't talk so all I do is listen. Your voice is soft and calm. Unlike Kyodai's." he smiled and huffed again.
