The Trust (2016) – Movie Review Review Better than a lot of recent Cage but still pretty forgettable. Wood and Cage do their best with a messy screenplay and the ending . . . not so good.

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) – Movie Review Review More dreamlike and philosophical than the first but still very good. Some great set pieces.
Hail, Caesar! (2016) ReviewM Not one of the Coen's best but an enjoyable time filler. Brolin is great. I would love to see him in a classic Noir. He would make a good Dick Tracy too.
Ghost in the Shell (1995) – Movie Review Review Looks amazing, great soundtrack and an engaging story with philosophical overtones. Fantastic.
Bamboo Gods and Iron Men (1974) – Movie Review Review Poorly made, awful acting, terrible dialogue, fight scenes that seem to be made up on the spot with no fight training from the actors at all.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) – Movie Review Review Like most things Abrams is involved in the idea is better than the execution. Entirely predictable and a tepid affair. The only saving grace is John Goodman who is as solid as ever.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) – Movie Review
Review There’s a lot of hate for this movie but I liked it. Yes it has it’s pacing problems, yes there is some stuff in there that isn’t made totally clear, yes it concentrates more on setting up the Justice League movie but there are still a lot of positives to take from it and I’m looking forward to the Justice League movie. Affleck is great as Batman and the Batman fight scene in the warehouse…

The Witch (2015) – Movie Review
Review Atmospheric and creepy and very well made. I’ve read elsewhere people are saying this is slow and arty. I didn’t find it to be like that all. If anything it’s really well paced and easy to follow. Excellent acting all round and more family drama than supernatural horror. Don’t expect Jason or Freddy style gore, it’s all about atmosphere.

Daredevil (2016) - Season 2
Daredevil (2016) – Season 2
Review A 13 episode season which should really have been 10 episodes as it feels dragged out. Not as enjoyable as the first season and Daredevil becomes a bit of an annoyance. It becomes a bit messy with the multiple storylines and I was more interested in the Punishers story line than Daredevil and Elektra’s. It’s o.k but I think I’ll give season 3 a miss. Getting a bit sick of all this…

Into the Wild (2007) – Movie Review Review Not a fan of Penn and think the man is a giant douche but he's done o.k with this. Hirsch's character is not that likable at the start but he grows on you. Great support from Keener and Holbrook. Worth a watch.
Trouble Man (1972) – Movie Review Review Effortlessly cool and one of the best blaxploitation movies I've seen. I'm sure Black Dynamite took more than a few ideas from Trouble Man as Dynamite has a lot of T in him but he ain't quite as cool. Great movie.
Mr. Nobody (2009) - Movie Review
Mr. Nobody (2009) – Movie Review
Review I watched the extended version which clocks in at 2h 35m and boy oh boy was it a struggle. An hour plus could have been chopped off this for a start as nothing really happens. The movie is all about choices and what if’s but we know this after 20 minutes . . .then it just keeps on going and going and going. It looks great and if I was an 18 year old college kid who is getting into ‘cool…

Ip Man 3 (2015) - Movie Review
Ip Man 3 (2015) – Movie Review
Review Better than the second, not as good as the first. The story has been done a thousand times before. Bad guys bully people to get their property, good guys help the property owners but the relationship between Ip Man and his wife is developed more than in the previous two which gives the movie an unexpected but refreshing emotional edge. Tyson’s character seems to have been squeezed into the…

The Gravy Train (1974) a.k.a The Dion Brothers – Movie Review Review A crazy 70's flick that is superbly paced and never gets stale. An early role for Margot Kidder and co-wrote by Terence Malick which is a weird one! About as far removed from a Malick picture as you could imagine. Cool and quotable, check it out.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016) - Movie Review
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016) – Movie Review
Review The first one is a classic which had a great soundtrack, was spiritual and had a lot of soul. This one is just a bog standard Kung Fu movie. It’s o.k but no more than that. Great to see Donnie Yen in there and Master Woo Ping’s fight scenes are always entertaining (there’s even a Matrix stance in there) but it just hasn’t got that certain something which the original had. I guess that’s…

Cop Car (2015) – Movie Review Review Feels like a flick from the 80's and there's definitely whiffs of 'Stand By Me' with a Stephen King influence in there. Not bad at all.
Listen to Me Marlon (2015) – Movie Review Review Excellent.
