were now, it would take a while for anyone pursuing them to
actually catch up to them. With the cave blocked behind them
and no foreseeable exit, they were trapped in indefinitely.

For that, he’d need a special kind of rock and some flint that’d light the minute
it sparked. “It’s not that simple.”
I'm truly not trying to start anything here, only attempting to be informative! Henry is Peruvian and Bob is Filipino, so you're roleplaying with a Latino and an Asian FC. By not racebending Sam ( or prior acknowledging they weren't even white before I mentioned it ) and writing him as Caucasian American, you're whitewashing POC actors.

The way that you’re describing it is kind of backing me into a corner and making assumptions about things that I had no intention of doing or even had any idea that I was doing. I chose those two faceclaims because I thought they suited Sam’s mannerisms and the feel of the character. I chose them because they were actors that reminded me of Sam and how he acts in game.
I didn’t choose anyone based on race.
I don’t advocate whitewashing because so far in the media it’s caused nothing but trouble and offense. I think there should be more representation in the media of all different kinds of people because the film industry’s been a primarily white-dominated industry for far too long.
However, being a white, trans*man, my opinions and morals and statements are probably going to end up being misinterpreted or thrown out the window or cause offense to somebody because that’s how it always is with situations like this. That’s why I try not to get into the topic of race, especially in conversation, because I know I don’t have room to talk.
I feel like I’ve totally gone off the rails onto a different subject, but what you’ve said, in my honest opinion, was a bit uncalled for. Sam is a virtual character created through CGI. He was born and raised on American soil. We don’t know much about his family so we don’t know what genetics run in his family. He was only in one game.
If you want me to change my faceclaims then I’m unfortunately going to have to say no. If you’d like to have a more personal conversation with me about it to try and understand what we together can do to work this out then feel free to come off anon and have a conversation with me. I’d be more than happy to find a way for us to talk about this and to discuss our points of view.
What I’d rather not have happen is this anonymous pointing of fingers and baseless assumption without being able to explain 1.) (On my end) What about these faceclaims I liked and why I chose them for Sam, 2.) Why you believe I’m out to whitewash whether it be on purpose or on accident, and 3.) Is there a better way to go about keeping my writing and interpretation of Sam the same, with these actors, without offending anyone, angering anyone, or leading someone to think something about the situation that is entirely different than intended.

I picked the faceclaims I did because I thought they really captured the way he looked in the games and the facial expressions Bob Morley and Henry Ian Cusick make are facial expressions I could easily see Sam making. If the faceclaims I chose are poc then they’re poc. I didn’t choose them for that reason, in fact, you’re the only one who’s pointed it out. Even I didn’t know.
Race is a delicate subject so I’ll make things short and sweet.
I do not roleplay racebent Sam but his faceclaims are poc(?). I guess it was just a coincidence.

was interested in her work. He met a few people here and there who caught
his attention but this was a situation where he wouldn’t rest until he had the
details.
