Mayternity 2026 day 28: Mermay
What is this? Momster manual is my attempt to draw various mayternity inspired monsters every day during month of may, with small side part for bits of lore and maybe even rules on occasion. Monsters will be either individual charcters or representatives of a type of creature.
Image sets will consists of few monsters with same theme.
This is third image of the Maiesta RPG set, for it feels most fitting to end the month with, after all, what month of mayternity and rpgs, if you don't touch the RPG for the theme....
Mayternity 2026 day 28: The Whale-Maid of Southern Seas
"The rich merchants started avoiding the seas around here a while back, they said pirates, though no pirate ships would ever appear, until one day, one would wash up on the shore, he talked of sea monsters, cannons and a great fat mermaid that would lure them to their doom, tales of sirens you know, but probably just mad ramblings of a madman..."
I return to tradition of mermay, with drawing my first maiesta rpg character, and felt perhaps it would be amusing to give her some rules as well as a monster, after all, if you are in a fancy ship perhaps you too want a fight with a big mermaid...
Vitality: 50 | Movement: 4
Armor: Silver | Damage: Silver
Actions: Three Elite Support or Bomber
Effect: This attack cannot be used if you moved this turn, and you cannot voluntarily move until the end of your turn after using this attack.
The attack targets creatures in a Burst 1 within range.
Weapon Die: N / A (This effect is not a weapon attack)
Effect: Target a creature within range. That ally adds a gold die to either their armor rolls or their attack rolls, chosen when you purchase this utility. This lasts until you use this ability again, or until you are reduced to 0 vitality.
Effect: The attack also inflicts Vulnerable on its target until you are reduced to 0 vitality, after damage resolves.
Sudden Death:You can use this ability as a Sudden action when an enemy within range reduces one of your allies to 0 vitality. You must target the triggering enemy.
Effect: On your first turn in the encounter, you have two battle actions.
Effect: Add a bronze die to your weapon attacks and armor checks for every non-minion ally that has been reduced to 0 vitality this combat.
Special: A Mastermind always has an Initiative of 100.
At the start of each of a Mastermind's turns, they summon one spirit touched orca. These creatures roll initiative and join the combat immediately.
Vitality: 24 | Movement: 5
Armor: Silver | Damage: Gold
Effect: This attack has no special effects.
Elite: The following upgrades are available to Elite versions of this action.
Crushing Force: Empower the attack's weapon die to Platinum.
Effect: For each of your allies adjacent to your target, add a bronze die to this attack.
Getaway: After this attack resolves, each of your allies adjacent to your target can move up to their speed.
Effect: At the end of each round, on an initiative count of 0, you regain 15 vitality.
