“a,e,I,o,u and sometimes Y”. Real kick getting to meet Jarobi White
REST EASY Came home around 2:30 AM on this morning from my weekly DJ event in my then home of Oakland California. My dad woke me up at 6:30 AM West Coast time to ask me when I had last spoken to my cousin. I honestly could not recall at the moment. My cuz much like me could be elusive and fickle with phones and contact. I know he had run across my mind earlier that week as I had seen a woman that reminded me of one of our cousins. He was always the one I called to get updates on what the latest status of one of our many cousins was. Where they lived and what they were last up to. Cut back to my dad telling me that the neighbors had not seen him in some days and they were “smelling something”. Internal voice is like no fucking way is this possible. Sleepiness is gone and now my mind is running. Jump off the phone and four 3 hours I am just calling his cell number over and over. My last ditch effort as my dad and his friend were heading to his apartment to break down the door is the text captured in this pic. No reply. Not to be. Already gone. Rest easy bai.
2018 and beyond (written 3 months ago)
I avoid setting resolutions...not sure if I am afraid of goal setting or if I have bought in to"you don't need a calendar to make a change". A week deep in and I have a quite a few things I would like to accomplish this year. Weight loss, savings, decorating the apartment and on and on. Maybe the key is drilling down to just a few goals. I feel like a large list makes me lose focus. There is a refreshing feeling to turning over the calendar, same feeling as starting a new job. It's like a chance to use a new clear page. Determined to start writing goals down and sharing more, this blog is the first step.
Ode to Ralph. I must say that growing up in Brooklyn in the era that I did (late 80’s and 90’s) influences my Ralph Lauren obsession. That obsession aside... few designers in the Big and Tall space come anywhere close to creating the multitude of casual options that they offer. From jeans, chinos, shorts, tees and trunks, etc.in sizes as high as 6X and 58 waist pants RL is king to me. Quality construction, stylish colors and good fits for not just the moderately big. I have been disappointed this year with the lack of colors in chinos but they remain the king in this space for me. Hoodie, cardigan and jeans all by Ralph Lauren. Sneakers by Nike.
This photo is the type I usually dread. The full body shot is a challenge for many overweight people but let me focus on my own issues. The full side shot, the fat hump-above the waist and all the anxiety that comes along with it. I was out to brunch with my boys and I initially had some confidence in the look I had put together. The camera took it all away in one quick click. Learning to post shots like this to kick start my brain into self love.

One of the idols on this fashion shit. His travel tips are killer...and expensive as f*@* for the most part.
Adidas NMD sneaks are so comfy. Calvin Klein stretch blue jeans, Perry Ellis polo and Ralph Lauren Cardigan
Outfit I put together for my 2nd anniversary with my lady at Fusco. Wore my Chelsea boots from Allen Edmonds which have become my staples this winter. Paired it with black Polo stretch jeans, black Polo cardigan and polo shirt. I love buttoning my shirts all the way to the top under my cardigans. Picked up the jacket from Destination XL from a brand I am starting to like called PX clothing. Wore my Burberry watch and blue cuff from Miansai. Very happy to share my first blog
