I’ll be attending the BIG WOW! Comicfest in San Jose on May 17th and 18th, and I’m opening up 5 or 6 spots for pre-ordered commissions at the show. Like with ECCC, I only open up for commissions around shows and this will be one of my last for the year so if you’re interested, now’s the time!

Back by popular demand are the cast from Creepy KOFY Movie Time! Big Wow feels like our home away from home at this point, particularly since we really have no home, just a cave. Come out and party with your favorite characters from the bay areas best late night horror show!
Balrok del Cavo: The man who started it all! This demon is the heart of CKMT and he will win your heart over as well. Just don’t tell him that the earth rotates around the sun, he is old fashion like that.
Madison Hannah: Cave Girl and underground street magician extraordinaire! Never satisfied with her slight of hand talents she is now able to bend quarters with her bare hands!
Melissa Wortman: Cave Girl and American Hero! This is one tough cookie as skilled with automatic weapons as she is with the rolling pin. More than happy to put the taliban on the run she sleeps with one eye open!
Scarlett Nixie: A new and welcome addition to the cave and a cosplay veteran! A professional BMX star she has even been know to attack cars with her bike, you can tell by the bruises on her legs!
Shotzi Blakk Heartt: A weathered and falling star in the entertainment business. This once up and coming Cave Girl was the heartthrob of the set until she took a turn for the worse. Please visit her at the booth and bring your best bathroom stories.
Slob: Literally the stuff you scrape from the bottom of a bucket. How he became part of the show and how he has been able to stay is a thing of mystery. But he has put out a record so that is something.
Webberly Rattenkraft: Is a giant rodent who reads a lot and talks. beloved by children he always has a pocket full of candy so ask him for a dum dum pop! He also believes the moon is made of cheese and currently has a kickstarter to buy a rocket to get “All that Cheese!”.
Big Wow! ComicFest is pleased to welcome comic artist Gerhard to this year's show! For 20 years, Gerhard worked as background artist and environmental designer on the Cerebus graphic novel which has been hailed as, “one of the most sprawling pieces of visual fiction ever created”. His designs and meticulously crafted drawings served to ground even the most fantastic of events, or drastic of stylistic shifts. Under the pressure of a monthly deadline, he honed his skills using the crosshatching technique which has become his particular style and has gained him acclaim throughout Canada, the U.S. and the UK. Since completing Cerebus in 2004 he has been exploring other creative endeavours including doing commissioned work through his website,www.GerhardArt.com and illustrating a children’s story written by Shelley Byers who will be accompanying him at the show. They will be displaying examples of other projects they have in the works and they look forward to meetings fans, old and new.
Bay Area Kaiju expert, Rondo-award winning writer, and author of the acclaimed EIJI TSUBARAYA: MASTER OF MONSTERS, August Ragone, will be joining Big Wow! ComicFest this year to present the latest release of his book, celebrate the release of the new Famous Monsters issue he helped to create, and drop massive amounts of Kaiju knowledge on the BW attendees!
Hugo-winning fantasy/Sci-Fi and FM Kaiju cover artist Bob Eggleton will be making his first trip to Big WOW! this year as part of the Famous Monsters Pavilion. Bob Eggleton is a Hugo award-winning fantasy/SF artist who works on both publishing projects and film concept work(such as Jimmy Neutron and most recently, The Ant Bully). He did his first cover forFamous Monsters of Filmland in 2011 and has now completed 9 covers, including the legendary "Godzilla vs. Gamera" cover and 4 celebrating the 60th anniversary of GODZILLA, to be released at Big Wow! ComicFest
Announcing cosplay guests Kit Quinn and Steven Meissner! Kit Quinn began cosplaying in 2007 at San Diego Comic Con with her first home made costumes, Snow White, Sailor Mars, and the Cheshire Cat. These days she’s more known for her appearances as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and Superma’am, as well as for her web series Sweethearts of the Galaxy. Born and raised in Northern California, Kit currently resides in Los Angeles where in 2012 she, along with best friend Tallest Silver, was named one of LA Weekly’s People of the Year. Her costume closet now contains over two dozen different costumes, and grows with every con she attends! Steven Meissner is a full-time prop-maker and some-time costumer. As the sole proprietor and artist of SoloRoboto Industries, he sometimes gets the chance to escape his workshop (where he spends his time making cool things out of boring things), and dress up in costume at Cons. The most well known of these are The Monarch, Eddie Brock/ Venom, and Power Guy. He's also very tall.
Big Wow! ComicFest and Famous Monsters is proud to welcome Daisuke Ban to this year's show! Few actors are fortunate to have one iconic role in their careers, and even fewer to have more than one. Daisuke Ban has enjoyed being part of that elite group by playing the title roles in two of the most iconic series of all time, Kikaida and Inazuman! This year, in one of his rare trips stateside, you'll be able to meet and greet this masked legend!
We're pleased to welcome back comic artist Ron Lim to the 2014 Big Wow! ComicFest! Lim is best known for his work for Marvel Comics on their various "cosmic" titles, most particularly the Silver Surfer (vol. 3) series, which he penciled for almost six years.
Big Wow! ComicFest is proud to welcome Kevin Grevioux to our show May 17 - 18! Kevin Grevioux is a Chicago-born actor, writer and producer. Grevioux was the co-writer and associate producer of the hit 2003 film Underworld, in which he also played the supporting role of Raze. He went on co-produce the sequels, Underworld: Evolution and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, again playing Raze in the latter film. Grevioux was an executive producer on the 2014 horror film I, Frankenstein and played Dekar in the film. The film was based on Grevioux's graphic novel of the same name released by his company DarkStorm Studios. Grevioux wrote Marvel Comics' New Warriors volume 4. Grevioux also wrote Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel, a character he created years ago as a young teenage comic book fan. The mini series was drawn by Mat Broome and Roberto Castro
Big Wow! ComicFest is pleased to welcome Damion Poitier to our 2014 Show, May 17 & 18. Damion is an actor and stuntman who has appeared in several films, most notably in Marvel's Avengers (2012) in the role of... That Villain whose Name we Dare Not Speak... Damion has also appeared in Star Trek (2009) and Jarhead (2005). His other film credits include small roles in The Hard Easy (starring Peter Weller), Dreamgirls (with Ivar Brogger and Robert Curtis Brown), and The Perfect Sleep (with John Fleck and Pasha Lychnikoff). More recently, he played a lead role in the independent science fiction picture Hunter Prey. He was also an associate producer on this film, along with Julie Caitlin Brown. For television, Damion Poitier has made both credited and uncredited appearances on such series as Trué Blood, Divergence, Sons of Anarchy, Awake, Dollhouse, The Practice, CSI: NY, Charmed, Firefly, Alias, Judging Amy, Sheena Queen of the Jungle, Boston Legal, and Boomtown.
In celebration of the Caped Crusader’s 75th anniversary, Big Wow! Comicfest is proud to present The Batman Museum! Seventy-five years of original art, toys, posters and collectibles of all kinds will be on display for the duration of the show! Hundreds of items from the legendary Bill Morrison Batman collection will be featured along with additional rarely seen comic art and an authentic full-size working replica of the classic 1966 TV Batmobile! This fantastic once-in-a-lifetime exhibit is exclusive to Big Wow! Comicfest and will not be seen again!
Jonathan Carroll has made a name for himself in the cosplay community since the turn of the century. Most notable for his portrayal as Superman, Batman and Wolverine, Jonathan has been sought after for convention advertisements, the subject of high art, extreme projects like Super Power Beat Down, and even featured in name and image in comics by various artist including George Perez, whom decided to create Jonathan as Lois Lane’s new beau, in the new 52 series. Jonathan has worked with multiple charities such as “Costumers with a Cause”, “Heroes Alliance”, the “501st” and has even had the grand opportunity to work with the “Make a Wish Foundation” to fulfill a child’s wish. Jonathan is an experienced martial artist, actor, and avid cosplayer who loves nothing more to flex his muscles while geeking out in costume.
Ultraman is Coming to Big Wow! ComicFest! Japanese actor Satoshi “Bin” Furuya will be making a rare appearance in the U.S. to attend this year’s festivities as part of the Famous Monsters Pavilion. He is best known for portraying the original Ultraman, where he donned the gray and red uniform on a weekly basis to save the universe from humanity’s greatest foes! Furuya starred as Ultraman for the entire original series and would later go on to feature in other shows such as ULTRA SEVEN.
Kenpachiro Satsuma - Godzilla himself - is the first guest announced in the FAMOUS MONSTERS PAVILION at Big Wow Comic Fest! Ken portrayed the King of Monsters from 1984-1995 and will be stateside May 17th and 18th in San Jose to talk all things Kaiju. What is the Famous Monsters Pavilion you ask? Big Wow! ComicFest is happy to announce that artist Aaron Lopresti will attend this May's show! Aaron's career in commercial and comic art has continued on for more than 15 years. In that time Aaron has worked on a wide variety of characters including: Spiderman The X-men, The Hulk, The Avengers, Batman, Plastic Man, Green Lantern, Superboy, Xena, Star Trek, Gen 13, Mystic, and the self published Atomic Toybox (just to name a few). In 1995 he founded the successful comic art studio, Studiosaurus that lasted until 1998.
We're happy to annouce the return of Abby Dark Star and Keith Zen Carter as cosplay guests at #bigwow 2014! A fantastic Bay Area couple, they make the best Deanna Troy and #2!
