It's Shocking Why Many Facebook Posts Never Get Seen
It's Biig Kev here with a little advice about Facebook posting and why some of them never appear to the other people on your friends list.
One way Facebook measures the importance of a post is how much engagement (likes, comments and shares) you are receiving. Ever notice how big news (getting married, new baby, new house, etc.) seems to be the most popular thing on your timeline?
Here's how some of it works. Facebook will show your post to about 20 (or so) friends (those that engage most with you), if there is no reaction from that first group, the post dies right there. Never to be seen again except if someone were to visit your profile. Sad right?
Otherwise, let's say the first 20 friends decide that they like your post, give you a few likes and comments, Facebook will then show it to the next group of 20. If they continue to engage Facebook will (slowly) roll out that post to the rest of your friends list. For example, I often have good morning posts that people engage with much later in the day and sometimes the next day.
I have a tested solution for this and it's fairly easy to implement. Cleanup your friends list. Remove inactive friends that don't engage with your content. AND do it manually. I know it's tempting to buy software to do this for you, but don't. You risk having your profile being flagged.
The best way to get more reach is to GIVE engagement. Reciprocity is a real thing. I know you don't have time to be on Facebook for 10 hours a day liking and commenting, but just take a few minutes to hand out some likes. If you really want to get the attention of someone, visit their profile. Like, comment and share on their posts all at once.
Build a list of friends that are ACTIVE and are in your niche. This is done easily by searching out leaders in your industry and finding people who are engaging with content already. PLUS, you can always use the excuse that you found them on a post from "Expert Guru Leader" and it gives you a rejection free Icebreaker!
