what better way to illustrate the 12-year, slow-motion car wreck that was destiel than a 10-minute-long opera about a motorcycle crash
[ watch in hd: with captions / without captions ]
This continues to be my favorite Destiel edit. I didn’t realize there was a version with full captions! That is so awesome and will help my non-native English speakers who are not familiar with this American rock classic.
Seeing this epic tragedy unfold through this rock anthem never ceases to make my heart sing.

Summary:
Getting trapped in the prison mess hall during an evacuation because the zombies were attacking - it's just the kind of irony that would happen to Dean. But the best curveball life throws at him turns out to be a blue-eyed guy that nearly ends his life.
When the first attacks began, Castiel locked himself in his house and waited for the government to rescue him. The last thing he expects is for a green-eyed stranger to show him the world has changed and maybe for the better.
The two set off on a thrilling adventure to reach the West Coast and find Dean’s brother. Along the way they meet some new people, reunite with some old friends and witness some wild things, but as long as they have each other, no obstacle is too great. Not even the deadly virus that has taken over the entire world.

Sam and Dean Winchester arrive in San Mateo, a small Texas town plagued by mysterious attacks linked to "La Oscuridad." The town’s only protection, a sacred blade, has been stolen, and they decide to help the townspeople recover it while making some easy money. Their search leads them to Castiel, a rogue thief with a personal vendetta and little regard for anyone around him. As they uncover hidden truths, tensions rise between vengeance and justice. But for Dean, the choice becomes even more complicated—take the reward money and walk away or risk everything for the man who challenges everything he thought he knew about love. In the end, which will he choose: fortune or the unexpected pull of his heart?

Dean raised an eyebrow, leaning toward Sam. “Guess downtime’s over.”
The brothers exchanged a glance, and quickly finished their drinks. Then they rose from their table, making their way toward the commotion. “What happened?” Sam asked, addressing one of the men supporting the injured stranger.
“La oscuridad,” the man said, his voice shaking. “It’s out there. It’s hunting us.”
“La oscuridad?” Dean echoed, turned to look at Sam and translated. “The darkness? That’s helpful.”
Before the man could respond, the doors burst open again, and a woman swept into the room. She was striking, with dark hair pulled into a loose braid and a woven shawl draped over her shoulders. Her eyes, sharp and piercing, took in the scene immediately.
“A un lado,” she commanded, and the crowd parted for her. She knelt beside the injured man, her hands moving with practiced precision as she examined his wounds. “Necesito su nombre.”
“That’s gotta be la curandera,” Dean murmured and rubbed his right forearm. “Why do you think she’s asking for the man’s name?
Sam shrugged. “No idea.”
The men around her gave her a name and last name before giving her quiet and space. “Think she knows her stuff?” Dean asked his brother, wondering when this curandera would bring out the cure.
Sam gave him a look. “You want to go ask her?”
Dean smirked. “Not really, no.”
The woman began chanting softly, her voice low and melodic. She waved a bundle of herbs over the man, repeating his name over and over, the sharp scent of sage filling the air. Dean’s expression shifted as he watched her work, the memory of his own brush with a vampire’s bite flashing through his mind. When she pressed her palm to the man’s forehead and murmured, “Regresa a nosotros,” the room seemed to hold its breath. “Regresa.”
The man stirred, his eyelids fluttering open. A collective gasp rippled through the saloon.
“What the hell was that?” Sam asked, stepping closer.
Dean stared at the woman, not believing how she’d just saved a man of vampirism with only a few words. “She was asking him to return. It seemed to be some kind of… soul-calling thing?”
The curandera’s sharp gaze snapped to him. “You’re not from here, vaquero” she said, rising to her feet. “Who are you, and why are you in my town?”

Cowboy Dean Winchester never stayed in one place for too long, often moving from town to town without much thought. But when he gets a letter from his brother, Sam—now the town’s sheriff—asking for help, Dean finds himself riding back into a place he had long ago stopped calling home.
What Sam didn’t mention in his letter was the name of the man terrorizing Redemption: Cain Adamson, a ruthless outlaw with blood on his hands and no intention of giving up control with a personal history with the Winchesters. The town is too scared to fight back, and Sam’s fighting a losing battle trying to uphold the law.
With the help of Castiel Novak, the new preacher in Redemption, his brother, and the town of Redemption Dean must decide if he’s willing to risk everything to take Cain down. The odds aren’t in his favor, but family is family—and if Redemption is going to have any chance at living up to its name, Dean Winchester might just have to be the one to deliver justice the only way he knows how, and has him thinking that maybe, just maybe, there could be a reason for him to stay.

The sun hung low over the endless plains, casting a golden haze across the town of Redemption. Dust kicked up in lazy swirls, drifting between weathered wooden buildings that withered with the weight of time. A church bell, cracked but still defiant, tolled faintly in the wind. The sound echoed across the desolate streets where life moved at a crawl and the daily plight of survival pressed heavily on everyone’s shoulders.
Dean Winchester rode into town on a battered chestnut horse, the brim of his hat tilted low to shield his eyes from the sun’s glare. His duster was stained with the grit of a dozen trails, and his boots had seen better years. Redemption looked smaller than he remembered—more tired.
If you are acting sane about fictional gay characters you are doing it wrong. They were meant to make you lose your shit and go deranged and be a naughty little slut about them. Make a playlist for them. Write a poem about them. Light a fire in protest. Cry yourself to sleep. Go crazy.
Hey remember this script from a scene (that was never filmed) from the show where Dean buried Castiel near a windmill? I LOVE WINDMILLS so I had to draw this piece :D
So I see you all are exhausted by streaming services effectively recreating cable. I see you’re all tired of ads. Pirating is a great alternative, but I have another fantastic option for you all!
I live in Seattle. And in Seattle we have America’s largest physical media store, Scarecrow Video. They are a non-profit that has pretty much any film or tv show you can imagine. Like, everything. So much so that one of our local cinemas does a program with them called “Unstreamable” where they show a film from Scarecrow’a archive that you can’t access anywhere online. It’s a bit overwhelming to go to their store, which is two levels of every program under the sun.
ANYWAY, I bring this up because they recently started a Rent-by-Mail program. It’s pretty similar to what Netflix used to do. You can rent up to six titles (barring their super rare stuff and pornos) and they will ship it to you, then you return it in the included pre-paid envelope.
Why does this rock? Sure, you still have to pay money, BUT you are supporting a non-profit that is dedicated to preserving media instead of some corporation looking for endless profit. They can also expand your palette with their vast selection. And if you have a favorite piece of media, you never have to worry about it disappearing! All their stuff is there in perpetuity.
So this is all to say, now that Scarecrow has expanded their reach beyond the Greater Seattle Area, I implore you to check them out. If you don’t want to rent right now, the could always use donations to keep them afloat.
I've been here!! But holy shit a rent by mail service. Like how Netflix started.
Here in Portland we have Movie Madness which isn't physically as massive but it is very similar and doubles as a prop museum, with heavy focus on sci fi and horror!
