Thank you! So much! I put a heck ton of effort into this piece! Its on my wall now and i love it!
My process was like, i drew the figure on some scrap paper, realised i would want more space for the background, traced it over to an A3 page.
Then i pencilled in the background of hills and coloured that in.
I was intending to do realistic clouds with colour pencil but it was looking childish and the colour side looked like blood? So i scrapped that idea and on the underside of the paper i sketched out clouds using a pattern i found online. Then i spent two days cutting those clouds out and bruising my hands with an exacto knife lol
Then I decided to seal in the colour pencil with a wash of watercolour because it looked really grainy, which is fine for texture, but the white grain annoyed me:
I painted over the clouds as well to create a gradient sunset on one side and a gradient of black on the other.
I could have left it here but i realised how pretty the front cover of my sketch book looked under the colour clouds and thought i should paint and stick a sunset on that side. For the mono side i ripped up black card paper and glued it down.
All in all this took me 6 days, though I did leave it for periods of time.
