My name is Cosette and I really like your music! I just discovered it today when I was searching "you're the queen..." And then all of a sudden my name pops up in popular searches and I had to know why! I hope this band gets really big and a lot of people wear your shirts. It'll make me feel really good. :)

Hi Cosette!  Thank you for the well wishes, I hope so too!  

Did you know your name means "lark" which is just so beautiful to me.  That's one of the reasons I love the name, but the central inspiration was the character in Les Mis, which is a book that has been really influential in my life and writing.  I love Cosette's character in Hugo's book because she demonstrates this immense amount of beauty and redemption.  The idea is that, through the love of another, Cosette, who experiences so much rejection and hardship in her life, is still seen as the most beautiful and precious person in Jean Val Jean's life.  There's a line in the book where he puts her on his shoulders and says "You're the Queen Cosette!  You're the queen."

I really want my music to portray these same beautiful truths.

What's to Come

For fans and friends otherwise, here is a brief outline of things ahead..exciting new fronts of creative vigilance and fruitful labor:

1. Soon I will have recorded my first EP, a collection of six songs I've selected to be the forerunners in this musical venture.  It will spotlight the drumming genius of Casey Joens and the musical stylings of some yet to be determined musical guests.

2. My heart's desire is to get this collection of songs out into the big, bad world.  I've held onto them for a long while, but I think it's about time people heard them.

3. I'd like you to be as much a part of the process as you are in enjoying the finished project, so here, in this blog, you will find updates, behind the scenes footage, and the meanderings, ponderings, and poetries that make the music happen.
