“Come on Mike, you promised,” Eleven begged, “you promised we would go to the arcade.”
“And we will,” Mike said, “I just need to finish my chores.” Eleven groaned as she lay her phone down. Hopper hadn’t made Eleven do chores since she got mad once and broke the windows.
“El?” Eleven grabbed her phone again, “I only need to put my clothes in the dishwasher and then I’m on my way, you can go already if you want too.”
“See you there,” Eleven said and she hung up. She stood up from her bed and walked over to the living room. “Dad?”
“Can you bring me to the arcade?” Eleven asked “I don’t know where it is.” Hopper groaned but still stood up. Eleven smiled at him and the two walked to the car.
In the car Hopper have Eleven the whole “don’t go somewhere else” talk but as soon as they were at the arcade he stopped.
“Have fun kid,” he said, “and remember.”
“Stay at the arcade,” Eleven said, “I will, see you.” Eleven got out of the car to see Mike standing at the entrance. She walked over to him and gave him a quick kiss.
“Are you ready to beat Max in digdug?” Mike asked as the two walked inside, “she has a really high score but I think you can beat her.”
“What is dig dug?” Eleven asked.
“It’s a game where you have to beat Your enemies to win,” Mike said, “and I think you’ll be good at it.”
The two of them arrived at the game and Mike threw some money in it. The game started and Eleven was startled by it at first.
After a few tries so slowly understood the game and so was becoming better at it. Mike was cheering while Eleven was playing the game.
“Mike stop,” she laughed and Mike stopped and smiled at her, wondering how he got such a beautiful girlfriend. He truly was lucky with El, even Dustin admitted it.
“Come on let me try,” Mike said when Eleven died yet again and Eleven stepped aside. She watched as her boyfriend, who was way better at the game, beat all the enemies.
“Mike, el?” Eleven turned around to find Max and Lucas stand behind them.
“Max,” Eleven said and she hugged her friend. Max hugged back.
“What are you doing here,” Lucas asked.
“I’m teaching El how to play dig dug,” Mike said, “maybe she can beat Max at the end of the day.”
“You’ll need a lot of practice for that,” Max said.
“What are you doing here?” Eleven asked.
“We also wanted to play dig dug,” Max said, “maybe we can make a little competition, Mike and El as a team and Me and Lucas?” Eleven nodded and so did Mike and Lucas.
At the end of the day Max had a even higher score on dig dug then before and Eleven stood at number 10.
Hopper came to pick up Eleven when she and Mike walked to the car together, hand in hand.
“Dad?” Eleven asked, “can Mike come and sleep over tonight?” Eleven saw Hopper clench his jaw.
“Keep the door open three inches,” hopper said and he opened the door. Eleven got in but Mike would cycle after them.
Once they were back home Mike and Eleven almost immediately ran to Elevens room with Hopper yelling after them to ‘keep the door open three inches’.
When it was evening and Mike was on his mattress on the ground and El was in her bed, El decided to get out of bed and snuggle with Mike.
As soon as El got into Mike’s bed Mike hugged her. “Hey El,” he said, “do you know that I love you? I mean like you’re the best that has happened to me and I just love you.”
Eleven giggled when Mike said that, “Mike I love you too,” she said and before she could say anything else Hopper walked in.
“I told you to keep the door open three inches,” he said and he looked at Mike and El who where both in Mike’s bed, cuddling. “I’ll ignore it for now,” Hopper said, “but just keep the door open three inches.”
