somebody went into the fireplace again
I'm sorry for not talking to you for a long time and then suddenly angrily texting you about hating your post
not sure who this is to be completely honest!
I’m not gonna sit here and say that modern art is soulless and cheap as I know much of it contains thoughtful social commentary etc etc
but you will never convince me it’s good
if my toddler can do it I don’t think it should be worth $100,000 or more and sit in a grand museum
you can fight me on this. I encourage it. I will, however, never be changing my mind
For me, this was the thing that completely changed how I see modern art, and delves into just one of the artists whose process was so refined and complex that it couldn't be replicated, despite looking simple on the surface. Blade already echoed a lot of my thoughts, but I think it's shallow to say art shouldn't be valued or preserved because of personal taste.
Art that's on a higher level of abstraction than a painting of a woman is still art. Would you say poetry shouldn't be valued? Is The Caged Bird any less valuable than War and Peace? After all, poetry doesn't even take up half a page most times. It's smaller, simpler; I wrote poems as a kid. Anyone can do it. Many people do. Poetry can be more vague, inaccessible, hard to grasp, an acquired taste, etc.
But the fact is that most published poets (not talking about people like rupi kaur) can spend months—even years—working on one poem. Most people don't even know that. Many see poetry as a quainter, even fickle or pointless form of writing. That's how you get terrible poetry like Gabi Hana or whatever; because people go "oh well I can do that."
I say no—just like I say it's not fair to judge modern art because it seems like useless paint splatters and nothing else. It's visual poetry to me; just because I may not know what it is or the story of why it in particular is valuable—hell, even if I just don't like how it looks, that doesn't make it worthless. Realism is a trait of great art; not a benchmark of quality.
ppl who don't get cats will try to argue that cats don't love you meanwhile cats will cry and cry and cry and cry like the world is ending until you hold them like a baby and give them a kissy on their perfect lil forehead
Adhd symptoms no one talks about:
I cant finish cleaning my room because I can’t organize my desk because I haven’t organized my vanity because I cant organize my vanity because I haven’t organized my closet drawers because I cant organize my closet drawers until I organize my nightstand and I cant do that until I GET A NIGHTSTAND because the space between my really heavy bookshelf full of books and the space between my bed is abnormally narrow BUT TONIGHT WHILE I WAS AT ROSS I found the perfect nightstand so now I can go home and put all the stuff thats supposed to go on and under my nightstand on and under my nightstand and then I can organize the space next to my bed, then I can organize the closet drawers, then im at another impasse because I still need the proper vanity organizational materials; but we have made some achievements tonight boys
It’s like every problem is this
Sometimes even things that *aren’t* problems are Rush Hour…which then turns it into a problem when you can’t do it
Here’s the update post, for those who were curious.
People who perform manual labor should be not only given high and liveable wages, but unlimited access to healthcare and physical therapy to help manage the myriad conditions that come from doing back-breaking work.
Like this is not an absurd concept. It bothers me that people think that it is.
Honestly this app spilled. tell me the past 4 years haven’t felt like this
Oh thank the gods the Almond Milk year is upon us
how did they know
You just lost the game. Btw
