Call me vain but one of my personal development goals is to not be a draining person. I want people to feel listened to and refreshed after spending time with me.

This is a worthy goal! but, an important note:

Some people will always find social interactions draining. Jokes about bookworms and social anxiety aside, that’s actually what being an introvert is! That doesn’t mean they find those interactions undesirable, though. Like how you can enjoy running around an amusement park but then need a huge nap afterwards, the park was still fun, but now you’re down for the count.

So it’s also worth noting that you’ll never have complete control over this.

Just, don’t feel like you’ve failed if someone needs a rest from spending time with you. Instead, maybe also be the kind of person who lets them take that rest and is at peace with it.
