Unplanned Medical Hiatus.

Hello everyone, you may have noticed I have not posted much on my social media, nor on tumblr, as of late. The reason for this is due to a unplanned medical hiatus I have had to take due to my current condition.

I want you all to know I am completely Fine! I have just been going threw a harsh medical patch that will eventually solve itself in the following weeks.

Thank you for your patience and for sticking with me regardless of my several dissapearences recently.

Vograce Acrylic Charm review

Customer Service

Using Alibaba, I contacted Vograce, whose manufacturing company is WanYiwu Weichuang E-Commerce. Their customer service and response time is very good and quick!! I sent a quote inquiry and recieved a response within the day. The only issue I can see is the time difference and possible miscommunication (located in China), but as far as I’ve experienced, there hasn’t been any issue with language barriers.

They were very friendly and made sure to answer all my questions to the best of their abilities.

Pricing

I requested a quote for a quantity of 150 3-inch, double-sided acrylic charms.

The design itself was two charms, 1 in. and 2 in., connected in the middle, so I technically paid for two charms per unit.

1" charm (with a keyring provided) was 1.40 USD 2" charm (with connected rings provided) was 1.60 USD

In total, the unit price was 3.00 USD. With shipping, about 50 USD, the total came to 508 USD.

All I needed was to provide a PSD of back and front designs, with outlines and hole markings. Standard charm design procedure, I believe?

Turnaround Time

They sent me a proof for me to confirm, and once I did, they immediately began production. Production time was estimated at 3-5 business days. Shipping time was about 4-8 standard business days. So I sent payment on April 13th, and my charms arrived today, April 25th. So all things considered, 12 days for that amount of work is pretty impressive!!

Payment

Since Alibaba is used more as a communication service for a lot of these companies, they requested that I send payment through Paypal to their account. Seeing as how I was going to put down a pretty hefty sum to a foreign company, I was a little hesitant!!

They also requested proof of purchase (at least two screenshots of the transaction page and confirmation page on PayPal). I actually almost forgot to take a screenshot of the transaction, so don’t forget to do that loll

All in all, I feel like the transaction went pretty well!!

Product Quality

I realize this is the biggest issue some people might have with using a cheaper service. As far as I’m concerned, I’d give the finished product a 4/5!!

The charms definitely aren’t *Perfect*, but that’s probably me being fussy. The charms are 1/8 inch thick clear acrylic, with solid cut edges.

The quality of the design print is pretty darn good!! I made sure to send the design at 350dpi because I’m a stickler for detail otl

The connecting rings are basic metal links. I did have to go through several with a pair of pliers to properly close the links, but I guess that’s to be expected.

You’re given a pretty huge selection of keyring designs to choose from (and I believe they’re all about the same pricing), like rope straps, keyrings, clamps, and heart/star shaped rings.

Each charm comes with a protective film on every side to make sure they don’t get scratched on their way to you. I prematurely panicked because I thought the scratches and bubbles on the protective film were permanent, but realized I could peel them off.

So all in all, the print job and cut are pretty darn good.

Overall Review

As stated above, I would give the service and product a 4/5!

There are definitely some risks with services that aren’t well-established/big brand companies, but I think it was well worth it.

Some VERY slight marks/scratches, but not hugely noticeable unless you’re staring at it intensely

You definitely get what you pay for, but considering I’m only paying 3 dollars for what is essentially two double-sided charms of pretty good quality, I’d say it’s well worth it if you plan on quick production and sales!! I will definitely be using their services again in the near future. :>

DEAR DIGITAL ARTISTS

This is NOT okay, do ya`ll see how small and brittle the new nibs are?? I usually only draw in weekends (I don`t press hard either) and now I have to change them every 3 weeks. 

Complain. Tell them this isn`t okay. Don`t let big companies rob artists because they have the most reliable products.

By doing this, wacom makes digital artists spend almost 50 dollars every year compared to MAX 4 dollars every year on NIBS. This is so wasteful and not something everyone can afford. Wacom is just getting away with this and giving absolute bullshit excuses.

If you all wacom users want change, you gotta do something about it.

Sleepover 2

You all but threw yourself onto your bed, the day had drained every last bit of energy from your body. All you wanted to do right now was sleep for maybe a month or two, but by some miracle you managed to find some tiny bit of strength left to get up and head to the bathroom in order to clean up.

You dragged yourself out of the room, feet barely lifting off the ground and taking off your clothes had never been this hard before. You nearly feel asleep in the shower, the warm water relieving tension from your muscles and lulling you to sleep. You struggled even more while putting on your pajama, but finally you were free to just collapse on your bed and sleep  to your heart’s content. The bed was soo warm and comfortable, you snuggled against one pillow burying your face in it and almost as soon as you managed to wrap the blanket around your body, you were gone in the land of dreams. Barely a few minutes passed and a figure appeared in the room, staring angrily at your sleeping figure.

Kanato was beyond mad. How dare you go to sleep without his permission?! Without even coming to see him first after spending the entire day away from him?! He wanted to play and finding you asleep was not what he was expecting. He hugged Teddy tight and glared at you, debating on if he should wake you up right now, or wait and punish you after you gotten some rest. His anger was replaced by confusing and his brows frowned when he noticed your body was wrapped around a pillow. He did not understand why you would snuggle up like this, but he did remember seeing humans do that with other humans they had a certain type of connection with.

Bored and lonely the purple haired decided that he might as well try and get some sleep, but he was definitely not going back to his own room. He placed Teddy on the nightstand beside the bed and made sure that he was facing the bed. He did not want to risk squishing him but didn’t want him to be lonely either. He slowly crawled in the bed and laid down beside you. Kanato was on his side simply staring at your back wondering what it would feel like to cuddle like in the movies. While he pondered on this, you rolled around in your sleep and naturally gravitate toward his body. Every muscle in his body went stiff when he felt you move towards him, wrapping your arms around him and snuggling your face in his chest.

To Kanato’s great surprise, this position was actually quite comfortable. He was sure having someone this close to him would be uncomfortable and annoying, but he liked the warmth your body gave him and his sense being enveloped by your very unique scent. The feeling was still foreign, your body only used to having Teddy near like this, but it was still..enjoyable? For the first time in a very long time Kanato actually could feel himself becoming sleepy. He wrapped his body around yours, like he had seen in many movies and tv series. Slowly the vampire closed his eyes and felt himself drifted up to sleep, all warm and comfortable.

The next morning you nearly screamed your lungs out when you felt arms around you and a body pressed tightly against your back. When you tried to move away from the person, the arms tighten and a face snuggled against your neck. You heard a very familiar voice whisper ‘so warm’. You have no idea how but you managed to turn around enough to see the face of the person currently spooning you. Kanato was firmly pressed against you, still very much so asleep. You did not understand why he was here but you did remember having an amazing sleep and being more comfortable then you had ever been last night and somehow you had felt protected in a way. You smile and brushed his bangs away, turns out Kanato is even cuter when sleeping and very much clingy, refusing to let go. Even when you could tell that he was awake, he still wouldn’t budge.

To no great surprise the vampire started sneaking into your room almost every night, until after a month where he officially declared your bed his own. No longer having the need to sneak in, Kanato would be there in an instant when he would hear you pull the covers to get in, getting in before you an dragging your body close to his.
