*casually leaning away* ha ha…
There is a clamour from above – hurried scrambling; the patter of uneven footfalls. Then, suddenly following a sharp scraping, an eerie silence. Melkórë, still trapped in the form of a tiny bird, had finally resurfaced and launched themself with practiced aim from a high shelf, or a hole they had worked through the ceiling, it may be worth investigation later before the rains come, and, with a sloppy ‘plop’, directly into the full cup on the elf maiden’s table.
They only hoped it was tea.
"Oh! Oh my."
Once she'd gotten over her initial surprise, she carefully began mopping up the spilt tea with a cleaning-cloth and tut-tutted. "I don't think my chamomile is a good place for you to take a bath."
Tea, indeed. They wouldn’t admit disappointment in it being the floral sort or the realisation that this is how they would smell for a while. The tit-shaped scourge surfaced and shook their feathers and wings, but only after Rossiel had cleaned some of the beverage from where it had spilled. Chaos on a small scale was still chaos after all and until they could do more than build frost beneath their feet they could do little else. “Nonsense,” came the petulant reply, not using the corporeal body to speak, “This is perfect.”
I have forgotten that you can’t send asks from side blogs? Or I have forgotten how.

So you're alive after all...

Oooooh scary~
There is a pause in which no movement comes then overgrown talons dig into the stick, frost forming beneath the scourge’s feet. The ice braces their crippled limb as they push away from the table and pull themself upright and slowly walk sideways along the stick, growing ever closer to the other’s hand as their wide eyes glow bright and feral. The voice that comes forth from the bird is not of its body, a discordant clash of overlapping vocals out of synch with one another, malice within their promise; “I am never gone.”
"Fossil evidence from Peru suggests that corn was popped as early as 4700 BC."
> There is no reason not to have popped corns in your next fantasy setting.
> All hail Birdkore.

What is it, brother? Gotten used to my absence and now disappointed about my return? … or is it you want bisquits, again?
No immediate answer was voiced though the bird ducked down marginally upon being acknowledged and glowered at their sibling for they had grown comfortably used to running amok, unsupervised, and with little interruption. Fortunately what came with the absence was a significant lack of, well, things to torment. They focused their energies on chipping away at the inside of the walls and floorboards, having only recently found something to hoard. In spite of this they, mysteriously, had found plenty supply with which to keep their body round.
Done with their grumping Melkórë came forth from the shadows -- the crack in the wall where they often escaped capture, and pressed their weight down on their right foot where the smallest hints of frost formed. “Look,” they commanded, white barely reaching beyond overgrown nails.
It’s been a long time and Manwe has abandoned her account since she can’t remember the password, which means Melkore is unchecked.
So have them stealing someone’s jewellery.

A birthday Birdkore for an old friend, and the process because I don’t do anything here anymore (where is everyone??).
I have no idea where they’d have gotten a candle that narrow but it needed to fit in their beak, so.
