Around March time each year I find myself drooling over the creative calendar for the months ahead, counting my pennies and trying to figure out which arty farty festival to go to. To help me decide, I narrowed down 10 of the best looking creative festivals for 2016 and popped them in an article for Creativepool. Whether you’re into character design, 3D art or futuristic-media-happenings there’s something in there for you.
I’m not sure how I feel about New Year’s Resolutions. They always seem like a sure fire route to feeling bad about yourself come February. Yet January always brings with it the prerequisite blues, so I couldn’t miss the opportunity to get a creative pep talk from some of my favourite artists, illustrators and all round inspirational dudes. A six word story...
“Cat in window. Earth, tiny dot.”
Back in December 2015 (oh so long ago!) I was invited to take part in a wonderful Christmas project that brought together 24 artists, designers & illustrators from across Manchester to create a giant advent calendar. Here are my Three Wise Cats, who made their appearance behind window 15. You can find out more about 24 Days of Lever St. in my article for Creativepool Magazine. Prints of all 24 artworks are available to buy from 24daysofleverst.co.uk with all profits going to fantastic charity Wood Street Mission.
Here’s a throwback to Christmas 2014, when Dave Wharton and I created a bit of Christmas street art in collaboration with The Neighbourhood and Out House.

Manchester School of Art graduate Susie Purvis creates beautiful illustrations inspired by the landscape and the people she sees around her. Working largely with gouache, coloured pencils, pattern and texture, her work is altogether charming.
