Oh, one thing though i wanted to mention: "believe bisexuality and pansexuality are the same, however [they] respect people’s personal identities" seems to me like it might distort responses? (as in: those who believe the identities are the same and check the other box [no "however..."] automatically don't respect personal identities.) Maybe a better way to put it would've been "however [they] see that it's a useful distinction for other people talking about their identity"? Just an idea tho!

Thanks for the suggestion! I may re-word that question in that way if I do this survey in the future. Unfortunely I can't change the answers too much right now because it will mess up the data. But thank you regardless.

how did ace inclusionists vs exclusionists respond to the monosexual privilege part, and queer as an identity part. i am actually kinda curious to see if these intersect in any way.

These results might not be the most accurate because only 4.6% of the general respondents identified as ace exclusionists. I will try to do my best in sharing this in more circles for more accurate results in the future.

M-spec survey 100 results

Hey everyone! I know I said I would share results after 50, but I honestly didn’t expect to get so many results overnight. So, serious thank you to every person who shared this survey, I appreciate it so much. So I will be posting for the first 100 results first.

I did read everyone’s feedback at the end of the survey, and I did realize I forgot to post the link to this account. That has been changed. I also re-worded the question of “opposite gender” to “opposite binary gender” to include the experiences of nb folks. I wasn’t really sure how to word that question so I apologize for that. 

Also, I want to say that this isn’t meant to start discourse or gatekeep anyone. I am m-spec myself & I am curious to see what other people in my community have to say in regards to these questions. If questions do come off as bias or hurtful, please let me know & I will reword them right away. 

So, anyways onto the first results. 

For these 100 respondents, I will be focusing on the results of the m-spec folks for now. 

Out of the first 100 respondents, 73% identified as multiple gender attracted/bi/pan/ply/m-spec/multisexual, etc ....

79.49% of m-spec respondents believe bi/pan people can call themselves gay

0% of m-spec respondents believe that bi/pan people could not call themselves gay

6.84% of m-spec respondents believe that bi/pan people can only call themselves gay for “I’m so gay” jokes and the like.

13.69% of m-spec respondents were unsure if bi/pan people could call themselves gay.
