Both categories include women and nonbinary people

Both categories include people with penises, and people with vaginas, and people with ambiguous genitals.

Both categories include intersex people.

TME includes cis and trans men.

Anyone claiming this is a binary is being disingenuous or willfully ignorant, which is honestly the same thing.

Hi why when I see transfeminism posts an alarming amount are bashing trans men. Not ALL. I think it's in the minority. But it's enough to be noticable.

I just want to like support everyone without having to put myself down.

I think the trans part of my statement was forgotten.

Yes, trans women are women and trans men are men. But my point is gone when you removed the word "trans" in my statement. I am talking about a small part of the trans community that act like transmascs are demons. I am not talking about women and men in general. I understand how women are fed up with misogyny and often take it out on men. But saying "god I hate men" Is different from "all trans men need to die" Which was the type of statements I was referring to. You are specifically excluding an already marginalized group.

I'll ask you three questions to illustrate.

If a disabled feminist woman says that about disabled men do you think you can say this isn't a matter of reacting to misogyny, but bashing disabled men?

If a gay feminist woman says that about gay men do you think you can say this isn't a matter of reacting to misogyny, but bashing gay men?

If a feminist Black woman says that about Black men do you think you can say this isn't a matter of reacting to misogyny, but bashing Black men?

The answer to all of these, of course, is no. But then why should a feminist trans woman saying that about trans men work any differently?

Of course if we want to look at the direct application of misogyny we need to look at how it is applied within a same demographic. Otherwise, we have to bring the other factors in as the different factors apply.

For example, a cis feminist saying things about trans men, or a white feminist saying things about Black men, will have to look very different to be done properly. A white woman can jeopardise a Black man's life by utilising her whiteness, after all.

Further, just as the point of feminism is to address misogyny, the point of transfeminism is to address transmisogyny. A trans man can leverage transmisogyny. Observing this, and reacting to it when it happens, isn't exclusionary or marginalising. It can be rude, it can feel mean, it can hurt feelings, which can absolutely be serious at the individual level - but it doesn't have the structural power to exclude or marginalise.

As the "transmisandry truthers" or "transandrophobia truthers" get louder and annoying-er, fair warning: you'll see more of that in response. Just as a cis man who gets feminism doesn't feel individually targeted when cis feminists say "all men need to die" - which they absolutely do - a trans man who gets transfeminism should get to a point where he doesn't feel individually targeted by this. It's the de-fanged reaction of the downtrodden, it's politically motivated, it's not a personal attack or in the position of power necessary to leverage bigotry.
