Although izuku will definitely ask to train, randomly insisting on fighting is katsuki's thing. So when katsuki is woken up in the middle of the night to izuku demanding him to fight, katsuki already knows. The walk to the training ground is silent. They fight in the same mock street they used in first year.

Izuku uses the last of his embers playing hero with his best friend. It's a night that ends in tears.

A night that also ends in aizawa and all might coming to get them after a while, because they also just know. Coming back to the third year dorms everybody's awake and there's breakfast set out to pick at. There's more tears. It still hasn't been said yet. The entire third year heroic course skips the day, as class b joins later in the still early hours. (They take a extended weekend, the school has no grounds to punish them for this, they sent those kids to war after all.)

Those kids pile in the common room. With izuku in the center, katsuki on his left. Matching scars and matching fucked up hands and all. Towards the end of their break everyone's laughing between the tears. A few toasts have been made, and everyone's ready to change the future. It still hasn't been said.

Midoryia Izuku retires as a professional hero before graduating. His dream dies before ever really starting.

While on medical/mental health leave from physical training, he checks out the younger years. He offers tutoring after the school day, which always end in with hand-to-hand combat practice. Katsuki's already asked, all might and his mother question him at dinner one night, tenya and uraraka open up the conversation, he can't bring himself to answer. It hasn't been said.

What will he do now? What can he do, if he's not a hero like all might?

Midoryia Izuku still graduates at the top of the hero class. He helps all his classmates continue training, helps them set up agencies, tutors kids in quirk control back at UA.

His first official offer is a job with the new program of quirk acceptance, that helps little kids get a handle on dangerous abilities and gets everyone the help needed when facing discrimination.

The second offer is all might and nedzu insisting he take on a more permanent position as a homeroom teacher in the heroics department.

The third offer puts a professional title on everything he's done since childhood. He's the most sought after quirk analyst, often called in for opinions on team building or new villains.

He's busy. But it's better this way and better than any alternative.

The fourth and final life changing offer given to him, is in the form of the super suit katsuki gives him. He's taken on a few too many "sidekick" jobs, or analysis jobs, and honestly some house calls for kids with put of control quirks get messy. He's been back to being happy for a while.

But after his first shift? It's different, his eyes are lit up and bright. A smile that's not cracking. He's exhausted, but so ready to wake up and go again. This night? It ends with many UA alumni, piled into izuku's apartment in celebration of a dream coming back to life. Many more friends slipped in later to join the sleepover.

That next morning starts with aizawa, and all might, stumbling into an impromptu alumni reunion. To congratulate their lifelong student and colleague. Toasts are made with mixed match hero coffee cups, everybody's ready to go back to changing the future.

it's just- literally what's stopping izuku from being a vigilant as an adult??? like- he's quirkless so technically he isn't a vigilant, he's got plenty of (physical and influentially) powerful people on his side to cover for him if needed, and idk i just think it would be interesting to see

especially if he's also being a teacher omg how tf does that work i have no idea i haven't slept well in a while so idk what i'm thinking

I think about this all the time (probably bc my fav fics are him being a quirkless vigilante),, what's stopping him from being a underground hero?

He lost his quirk. So being a public hero may not be the best idea, it makes him a target. So the cover up is that he retired as a hero before getting graduate as one and got a teaching degree to help the new students.

But he'll provide over comm back up for many of his classmates and other heroes. And he'll join the others that work at night more. Mainly the underground heroes Easerhead and Mindjack.

Give deku some steel toed boots, brass knuckles, and some kind of weapon, and he'll be all good. trust.

Once he gets the hero suit he steps out publicly as a hero, because being a hero like all might was always his original goal, but honestly as long as he gets to help people he'll be satisfied.

Love the implications that deku now works with aizawa as a teacher at UA.

I was just hit with a thought of Aizawa slamming the door and yelling at deku and his class. Nothing bad, just unconventional and paperwork inducing.

And deku falls in line immediately. Back straight, hands folded neat. In chorus, with the entire class "Yes sir, sorry sir, won't happen again sensei."

The kids get a good laugh about it, but deku's already texting the group chat because he's just had the biggest ptsd flashback of his life

media literacy would automatically go up 100% if people knew how to consume stories without self-inserting themselves into the characters' shoes. "if i were him..." you're NOT. you may relate to his story, his past, his traits, his quirks, his identity but the moment you start treating the story accepting what you feel/think as what the character feels/thinks, you're misunderstanding the story.

Saw something about korra technically being katara's husband which makes her kya, bumi and tenzin's dad and now I'm mad about them not using it in the show like...?

We see Shilo over come sunlight and dance in it right after we learn about Arthur's backstory, mainly how he got turned and went in a frenzy and killed his family. Shilo (fuck tricky time lines ig it's been a week-ish) had just went in a frenzy and killed a guy for the very first time in the last episode. He genuinely does not like that he did that, he shut down for the rest of the scene.

Arthur has been preaching about how vampires need to keep their humanity. Emizel has only been a vampire for a handful of weeks compared to the years of being a human.

Shilo doesn't have that. Shilo has never been a human, and by stepping in to the sunlight he is confronting a unconscious fear that he can't know better. If he's never been a human, and only ever knew other vampires, can he really say he has humanity to hold on to?

He's going to spend eternity in the moonlight, awake in colder nights. I hope he felt some warmth under there.

Traditional benders vs sub benders

Imagine a world where all the subcategories of bending have become so common, that "pure" elemental bending has flipped over to being more rare. And we've already seen the potential of this. In the og atla lighting was rare (only the royal family was using it) and metal bending was just created, but in tlok both sub bendings were being thrown around like extra boomerangs.

We also saw how people adapted to their environments via sand bending and swamp/plant bending. Which poses the question, did sand benders learn "traditional" earth bending before sand? Or did they learn sand first, and would need to change tactics when asked to earth bend? Was there swamp benders who needed to learn how to move water independently? In atla the North Pole only taught healing to women, therefore there was a whole class of waterbenders that could heal, but not much else.

So by taking in real world experiences, where as groups of people mix in communities, and have kids with each other, cultures and identities get mixed and/or diluted down. (Not necessarily in a bad/evil way, but like how some parents put emphasis on their kids learning the new culture and end up neglecting their own cultural heritage). As the kids today might say, we are losing recipes, it could happen here too. We get the new age of benders, that struggle with learning "traditional" bending. Maybe this is following after a age of benders that "specialized" their bendings to a extreme.

Like if a few more generations in, Toph's family only knows how to metal bend. Some fire benders can't actually bend fire, only lightning. There are some communities where fire and earth nations got so intertwined, they only seem to produce lava benders. Generations down in katara and aangs family we get a self proclaimed cloud bender.

This could lead to a conflict where we have traditionalists that view subcategory benders as lesser than those who align with the original tradition bending. We could get a evil avatar out of this story line where from a young age the avatar is raised with these ideals but later gets their redemption (i could go on another messy rant how this is my favorite possibility) Reinforcing the lesson about how being open minded and learning from others with always improve yourself. Or a story line about how it's no longer just four elements the avatar is representing, and shows the lesson about how representation and understanding is still needed after every one got mixed in (because there could easily be 7+ decently sized, different, yet still comparatively niche, ways of bending/culture along with tons of smaller ways of life)

Another conflict that could happen is how rare "traditional" masters are, so that when it's time for the avatar to learn all four elements, it's become increasingly hard. Then we get to see the avatar and their friends learn bending from the original benders, and the lesson is along the lines of how it's still important to understand your roots, and while its impossible to know every fact about the past, the information should always be available to look back at. Maybe the villain is a organization that views "traditional" bending as dangerous and made people too unpredictable or it's a way to nerf civilians (bc a earth bender could potentially learn BOTH metal and lave bending, but preventing knowledge would keep metal and lava benders restricted to one subcategory)

I have so many half baked ideas that all stem from me wanting to see more of the subcategories of bending. And with all the talk about getting to see a new avatar, we've all been wondering what the story could be. I personally love how aang and korra contrasted each other. it doesn't leave much room narratively for a new avatar. BUT by continuing down the themes of how quickly the world has changed, we already saw people questioning the need for a avatar. This also ties in to the ending of tlok, where the avatar cycle has been restarted. A perfect time to introduce a change of duty.

Fit and Pac first realize that the other had a crush on Tubbo when they found him asleep on his factory floor.

Pac’s face was positively gooey with affection and worried. The only way to describe him was lovesick.

Fit, although more stoic than his boyfriend, was clearly worried for the youngest member of the Morning Crew in only the way a lover could be. Pac knew Fit’s subtle tells well enough to read him like a book by now.

There’s a moment of relief when they come to the same conclusions about the other. The difficult part was trying to figure out if Tubbo reciprocated their feelings. After all, he had Fred.

Like 5-10 years down the line on one of them is ready to get married. But in order for this marriage to be legal, they have to round up the troops and get the old group back together to do a polyamorous divorce.

They're still good friends with each other, if not a little spread out over distance. But due to a considerable amount of time spent as roommates, various projects, and a few house pets between. The divorce turns ugly with disputes about money and custody over a cat.

Either said hijinks gets resolved semi-reasonably and the campaign ends with a nice ex-poly-marriage dinner party. Or its decided to be easier just to add the new SO in to the marriage and carry on with how things are.

Either way, the longer this bit goes on. The better it gets.

And now sunny has no one!! (qfit left immediately and qphil Isn't letting this be as angsty as it is/brushing past it) Im so sad over this. Ig this is another instance of other characters underestimating him and not taking him seriously.

Also as a doozer, most of us want more federation/ more of a villain arc out of qfoolish. So I propose a team up.

Town of fobo villain arc where they become the capital of the island, and headquarters of sorts for the feds would go hella crazy.

qtubbo and sunny make me sick. They both got irradiated, and the second qtubbo heard sunny needed milk all priority got placed on her.

All the milk, attempted cures, gapples, and a totem were given to her. All while qtubbo distanced himself so the others could focus on her. He still joked around with the other eggs between fading in and out of consciousness (getting repeatedly knocked and revived, sunny wasn't knocked a single time) but the way he'd stared at sunny, not having a way to help :((

AND THE WAY HE WAS SWITCHING TO F5 AND BACK WAS LIKE HE WAS DISASSOCIATING BETWEEN NOT WANTING TO BE IN SO MUCH PAIN WATCHING HIS DAUGHTER DIE AND HAVING TO BE PRESENT ENOUGH TO COMFORT HER WHILE SCRAMBLING FOR A CURE!!!

(meta wise ik it's a mechanic used to see more, and cc!tubbo uses it frequently for in game use/to fidget)

Also that man had ~20 gapples on him. He ate one at the beginning of radiation, and chunsik gave him one towards the end of his radiation. He could of eaten a few more to save himself some pain, but he was probably holding off incase sunny needed them :(

Okay so loving the idea that the town of fobo is just ever so slightly off.

It seems fairly normal on the surface, and the residents are nice enough, but the stench of blood seems to follow them around. There are one too many bones laying around to not raise eyebrows. The resident’s “tie-dye” shirts look too dark to be regular red dye. They have carnivorous livestock and ride horses faster then humans can comprehend.

People go missing if the loiter on the area, and one too many fed agents have come back terrified of birds. The residents greet you with a smile full of slightly too many teeth and a glint in their eye.

The town is empty, and your footsteps echo when you walk. The residents hear you from a mile away and will always be the first to greet you, whether or not you get a send off party is hard to tell.

Their hats and boots are leather, but they laugh off any comment about what kind. They use bones for decoration and blood as paint. They their enemies and kill for their friends. They’re fast, they’re smart, and they’re dangerous. Theyre fobo, and they’re just a bit off.

it's a booming economic town. both in livestock and mechanics. the architecture is no joke either. it's simultaneously a old ghost town, and a city that never sleeps.

they're a odd bunch that use bones to line the walls of their house. the girls weave small bones into flower crowns made for visitors. the wind chimes are also made with bones and various gems.

they all have dirt under their nails, somedays a slight red tint to their finger tips. the metallic smell comes from the machinery they use.

no one gives a straight answer on why the pasture is called the graveyard.

there's something in the wind, the way the dirt feels, the way the water tastes. something that tells you this place is unbalanced. it's not a right to leave the town of fobo alive. but a privilege given to you.

i love the town of fobo so so much.

it started as a joke, and is now going to be filled with trains and dinosaurs and now horses. i was really hoping to see a industrial/steampunk-y western town, and we might get something like that!

sunny and leo are now getting along really well. sharing beds and soon they'll be sharing a room. both girls are strong and independent, running around the fields and farmlands by themselves. barefoot without a care in the world despite their past lives as rich heirs. (i'd love to see more art of the four of them being full cowboy for the earlier days of fobo, like sunny in denim overall skirts matching leo's own denim overalls LEO WITH A RED COWBOY HAT?)

qfoolish and qtubbo compliment each other very well. lore wise they both were able to get a lot of info from the feds in their respective ways. they are both really good at the game, and both get obsessive with their goals.

also!! they are both girl dads!! and it's the cutest thing ever! like they both are totally cool with sunny making the walls pink, and adding pink curtains. i guarantee you qfoolish has matching nail polish with leo and qtubbo uses sunny's bows to push his hair back.

and, only if this is a safe place, i kinda like the potential of foolbo as a romantic pair. they already lied once saying qfoolish is sunny's other dad. and qtubbo called them a family that "moved into a fixer upper on a farm" to one of the bunny workers.

the found family of it all makes me so happy!!
