Hey in case no one told you there's nothing wrong with being an addict. You're not a terrible person just because you're addicted to something. You aren't inherently cruel and you're not vile. Morals have nothing to do with addiction. You being a "good" or a "bad" person is separate from your addiction. Lots of us have addictions and have addictive behavior. Whether it's a substance, either illegal or legal, or a physical thing to participate in like media, addiction is something human beings have always dealt with. Stop equating morality with addiction.

Furthermore! A lot of the perceived rudeness comes from the fact that taking off your shoes shows a level of comfort and unwillingness to leave that a lot of people don't like. Taking off your shoes in a shoes-on house is seen as the equivalent of like... Using someone's shower without asking.

Also the foot smell thing is real. We don't have the infrastructure or cultural habits to clean our feet after being on them all day, so they're generally very smelly, which creates the perceived illusion of dirt when the soles of your shoes are way dirtier.

hi. i missed work a bunch this week and last week due to a severe mental health crisis and (less severe) injury and chronic illness. my paycheck is about to be fucking abysmal and my workplace closes for a period over the break here so i cant make up those hours, and i likely couldnt even if they were open as im currently trying to check into an in patient facility, which as you can imagine is very stressful over the christmas period.

im a disabled aboriginal trans bisexual currently trying to seek assistance for trauma related mental health issues and in the mean time i desperately need assistance paying for food (i have literally nothing in my fridge or pantry) and id really prefer not to beg my abusive mother for money.

i realise i ask for assistance relatively often and i apologise but if its literally any consolation i am /still/ working through the sketcn rqs from last time and the money i do get actually does go to necessities like feeding myself, hygiene products, transport, medication, rent and utilities.
