As long as he's not trolling why should we exclude a guy who genuinely feels their attraction to women is queer/sapphic/lesbian/etc? This is how a few trans girls & nonbinary folk I've met realized they were trans, they realized they were a lesbian before coming to terms with the fact they're a woman / not actually a guy. I get wanting people to realize that mental health struggles are real and serious, but facts are that mental illness isn't "just as biological as cancer" or "just as physical as a broken leg." Don't get me wrong, mental illness is real and can be just as disabling as a physical health issue, but claiming that there's anything approaching the same degree of objective science and biological markers involved in diagnosing and treating mental health issues as there is when it comes to most physical health issues is objectively wrong. God it feels so weird being in an environment where they actively want to support you and give you access to things. Like all the evidence needed to get a completely fee free course at TAFE was a letter from my psych saying “yep this ones disabled” while things like NDIS you have to practically fight them to be seen as disabled and needing support.

It’s making your own decisions on what sort of relationships are important to you, refusing to let anyone make that choice on your behalf.

Aromanticism is the rejection of the expectation that you should water yourself down into something more palatable so that others might be attracted to you. It’s knowing that the way you look, the way dress, the way you behave and present yourself are for your own sake, not anyone else’s.

It’s the relief of not having to worry about relationship drama, because you’re single and happy to be single.

i talk a lot about fat acceptance in physical disability spaces and it’s often frustration directed towards fatphobic medical professionals that are putting fat disabled people’s lives in danger because of bigotry. but i also get very frustrated with physically disabled people who are not fat or haven’t ever been fat, because you will truly not understand the severity of medical fatphobia until you’ve experienced it yourself. i appreciate thin people who reblog my posts about fat acceptance in disability spaces but i wish people would educate themselves more, not just reblog posts and call it a day.

i am very fat, i get denied healthcare because i am very fat. i am getting denied surgery that would partially help my chronic pain because i am fat. i am getting denied top surgery because i am fat. i am getting denied certain medications because i am fat. standard mobility aids do not really come in my size because i am fat. this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Newsflash!!! If your doctor says your baby has "gonads" that need removal or that there is a genital "deformity" these words are code for intersex baby. REFUSE UROLOGY SURGERY FOR YOUR INFANT UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE IT WILL EFFECT YOUR BABY IN THE NEXT YEAR. sometimes urethras are blocked or there's legitimate impact to functionality. Otherwise almost always surgery can wait till your child is old enough to understand what is happening. As someone who went through pediatric urology- you don't want them operating unless it's 100% necessary. The procedures are gruesome and traumatic (and often not anesthetized) most people use it as a first resort when surgery should ALWAYS be a last resort especially for minors.
