Today was Fuji's day, which meant Ren might, if he's lucky, be dealing with ten different versions of him in one form or another. And honestly... he didn’t mind at all. He was eager to get to know Fuji on a deeper level.
He was relieved that his breath hadn’t been a deal breaker—that was just part of who he was: a mad dentist obsessed with teeth and syringes, as insane as that sounded. As a perfectionist, he felt a rare sense of pride whenever Fuji praised him like this.
"Alright....let’s go," Ren said, opening the passenger door for Fuji before circling back to take the driver’s seat. The song he played in his car is nothing out of ordinary, just a few classical soundtracks he loved to listened. He placed his phone on the dashboard to navigate through the streets. His screen popped a notification swiftly sent by Sakura, his cousin who is also a demon like him, coming up from the same hellish realm.
“Heyy can you send me 500 ¥? I forgot my wallet.”
Ren sighed while closing his eyes, decided to ignore her requests and continued driving. If he keeps acknowledging her, then she won’t learn. They both have a brother-sister relationship, as they shared a mutual goal of escaping the hell but he simply cannot comply to her on everything.
Fuji would definitely praise Ren - if he was in an according giving mood and if he thought he deserved it. What certainly made compliments coming from the vampire more precious as they never were just empty phrases as a part of small talk.
He darted Ren a smile for his gentleman like gesture and elegantly glided onto the passenger's eat, holding his hand bag on his lap. "I'm glad you're not a reckless driver, if someone negotiates corners too harshly I get neck pain", he told Ren while making himself even more comfortable in the seat. Yes, he felt quite well in this car, with the dentist, and the music was pleasant to his ears, too, even if it wasn't what he usually listened to. Though he noticed that Ren ignored his phone. "You can answer it", he mentioned in a generous manner, gazing at Ren's expression then. "Okay, someone's obviously nagging you. You're in trouble? Other than the troubles you're in 'cause you almost murdered me?" A sneer grew on his visage. "Hope you don't do that with every second stranger. The feral blood drinking, I mean." His fingers ran through his hair. "I wanna feel special. No matter if it had been a dick move. Don't destroy my illusions, doctor."

“I’ll handle it later,” he said, his tone even and sincere. “You’re the most interesting part of my day.” There was no hint of flattery—he meant it, plainly and without embellishment.
But the mention of that incident stirred a familiar guilt in him. Not the kind that weighed him down or silenced him, but the kind that urged him to do more, to be better, to give Fuji whatever he wanted. He didn't know if he should braced this feeling.
Though, he had never fed on anyone before. That moment had terrified him—not only for what it meant for Fuji, but for what it revealed about himself. It left a mark deeper than he liked to admit. So, instead of responding immediately, he went oddly quiet, his jaw tensing slightly as the car rolled to a stop at a red light. He was thinking.
Feel special, huh? The only approach he could muster was to spoil Fuji senseless. That had to count for something, since he's the type to not spoil anyone that easily.
“No, I’m not in any trouble,” he added calmly. “She’s just a cousin of mine.” Then, almost as an afterthought—curious, but still composed—he glanced over. “Do you have any vampire relatives?”

When Minhyun arrived at the clinic, his routine was always the same. Holding his morning coffee in one hand and his car keys in the other, he greeted everyone he passed on his way to his office. Moments later, his assistant followed, carrying his white coat and the day’s itinerary.
“We have the new doctor coming today, right?” he asked, settling into his chair and checking the calendar on his tablet. “Alright. We have a patient arriving soon, and the new doctor will be here afterward. Please ensure everything is ready for the patient and give the doctor a proper welcome when they arrive. I’ll go over everything with him and show him around once I’m done with my first consultation,” he instructed her.
As always, his assistant efficiently carried out his instructions. The first patient entered the office, and just as Minhyun was finishing up, she peeked inside, silently signaling that the new doctor had arrived.
Ren didn’t mean to come off like a perfectionist freak—it was simply in his nature. Even the interns who had worked with him at his clinic knew that well. A few managed to keep up; most didn’t last long. He offered his coworker a slight bow, paired with the faintest hint of a professional smile. Very few ever got to see the full charm of it.
The invitation for coffee made him overthink, as usual. He had planned to return to his office and double-check some files. Still, he glanced at the watch on his wrist, then gave a subtle shrug.
“Oh, uh-… sure.” It’s just coffee, Ren. Don’t be such a neurotic.
"Do you think you could teach me how to paint?"
“Of course. But some say I’m a mean teacher though.”
"I don't mind that one bit. I just want to spend time with you and learn one of your hobbies."
“Alright, I’m totally in the mood for painting anyway. Even if I’m not, I’d still paint with you.”
"You'd still paint with me even if you don't feel like it? You're way too sweet to me sometimes." Urara giggled and kissed Ren's cheek. "What do you think is easy to paint? I was kinda thinking about painting a sky with clouds. That's not too hard, is it?"
“It’s a new experience for me—to teach the love of my life how to paint—so I’m all for it,” Ren said with a dry chuckle. “I haven’t touched a brush in months. They’re pretty dusty... could use a little love from us don't you think?"
It was surprising how much his work had taken away from the free time he used to spend with Ura. “Yeah, I recommend just going with whatever you feel like painting. That way, it reflects exactly what you imagine it to be,” he added, quickly opening the door to his art room and flipping on the lights.

Ren didn’t respond right away. Instead, he found himself already behind the wheel of his BMW, driving to Fuji’s place to pick him up. This time, he wore a plain white collared shirt and business slacks—the usual.
As soon as he arrived, he stepped out of the car, scanning the area for any sign of him.
“I’m out front,” he texted over the phone. “Not sure where you are—I’ve never been here before.”
Fuji spotted Ren earlier than vice versa, seeing him typing on his phone when he scurried closer with a smirk and finally covering his eyes with his hands when he stood right behind him.
"Seems as if there's a crazy axe murderer after you", he groaned, speaking in a deeper timbre than usually, but his smile was to be heard in his words though. "A crazy axe murderer who eats doctors for dinner." It was obvious his mood was bright as Ren wanted to celebrate Fuji's birthday.

Ren glanced between the tall buildings and his phone screen, completely unaware of Fuji approaching from behind. He was just about to dial his number when he suddenly felt a pair of hands cover his eyes. He didn’t need to guess—he could recognize Fuji by scent alone. A grin spread across his face.
“Oh? Are you certain about that?” he teased. “At the end of the day, they’re the ones healing you up.”
Of course he didn't expect Ren to experience true fear. It had just been a little joke coming from Fuji's good mood. And if it wouldn't have been his scent betraying him, his giggle would have done so now.
"You'd say even axe murderers need doctors?" He took his hands from the other's eyes and laid his hand onto his shoulder, turning him around like this to face him. "Anyway, some axe murderers even need kisses. Sometimes." He beamed at the other, waiting for something to come. Right now he wasn't a strict master but a bubbly birthday boy, though things could change in the split of a second.

The only fear he’d ever known was the sight of Fuji lying in a pool of his own blood—something caused by Ren himself. That image still haunted him to this day, one of the most unforgettable memories he carried. Stop it, Ren. You’re here to celebrate his birthday, not ruin the moment.
A soft chuckle escaped him, thanks to Fuji for managing to draw a smile to his lips. At this point, he couldn’t care less about his public image as a dentist.
“Then you’ll get kisses,” he murmured, leaning in to press his lips against Fuji’s, breathing out softly, the scent of mint lingering between them.
Of course Fuji didn't forget either what Ren had done in a fit of bloodlust. And he would confront him with it over and over again and benefit from having the demon being deeply indepted with the vampire. But it wasn't as if Fuji was constantly afraid of Ren now. He would know how to prevent another situation like that. And not generously offer his neck anymore.
However, Fuji wasn't one to be affectionate in public either actually, but today he wanted to make an exception. "Better is", he whispered but was still smiling, closing his eyes when their lips touched. The unexpected scent made him hum. "What's that? Chewing gum?" He initiated another kiss, his hand laying onto Ren's chest. "Or are you a peppermint smelling demon by nature? Or is it a doctor thing?"

Being the responsible man that he is, he takes it all upon himself. It might seem like he's doing Fuji a favor because of what happened, but that's only part of it. He’s genuinely willing to explore the relationship they share from here on out. After all, learning something new has always been one of his traits.
